So I've figured out that I can stream stuff from my computer if I open up Media Player 11. And that's great! It's awesome! I've deleted all the music I ripped to my 360's hard drive, since I've already got copies on my computer, and much more. And I can just immediately watch anything I've torrented on my TV, just by selecting it. And such a choice of wallpaper! And so much porn!
But, thing is, I keep losing connection when I open a directory I don't often open. It hangs, and I get an error message on the computer, and it insists that I have turned off sharing.
What's going on here? _________________

The only real explanation I have is the joys of wireless networking and the pain of computers. It's either slow network issues or, since it's only happening with folders you don't visit often, an issue when it tries to access folders that Windows has compressed in order to save space.
In all honesty it's probably just something you have to deal with until you either change your networking configuration or Microsoft releases a patch to either Media Center, Xbox 360, or Windows. Sorry!

what video formats can the 360 stream?
same question for the PS3 as well. Actually, especially for the PS3 since it streams much faster and easier than the 360, but it doesn't seem to recognize ANY video format I have on my laptop. |

Pretty much what you'd expect. Most non-proprietary and Microsoft-based stuff. Though it can get picky. Like, say, it will play DivX files but not always XviD.
But yeah. That stuff, mpeg, .wmv. .mp3. I don't think it likes .ogg. _________________
