This Sunday, ChatterBox Video Game Radio will be interviewing the now infamous Miami lawyer, Jack Thompson, regarding the GTA-EA-ESRB ratings scandal currently in the news.

The interview will be prerecorded, but there is still plenty of time to submit questions to the producer, Alon Waisman, to be asked of Mr. Thompson.

As members of the game-loving media, the interview will NOT be your standard, pandering, Fox News-esque effort. We want to get a feel for what his real concerns are, and what, if anything, he can sympathize with, from our point of view.

At no point will anyone be attacking Mr. Thompson for his views. Hopefully we can figure out what makes him so conscientious in his effort to shut down what we see as acceptable entertainment.

If you would like to submit questions for review, visit http://www.chatterboxgameshow.com and e-mail Alon with "Thompson interview" in the subject.

If you'd like to listen to the interview, a short clip will be aired on Sunday's (July 31) show. The entire interview will be available soon thereafter, and we will be discussing it during the following show.

-Alon Waisman

Jack Thompson isn't going to listen to anything I have to say, or anything anyone who plays games has to say either. He's made that much clear already. I doubt there'll be any getting through to him, seriously. He's just a politico on a mission, simple as that, and videogames are the new Rock Music. The new Comic Books. The new Sacrificial Pig of soft issues. It'll be an interesting show to listen to, at least, and will probably garner lots of page hits to your website, but beyond that I don't see it doing any bit of good to have him on.

I don't think so. He's an attorney from Miami, I hear.

I have a single question, which I am too lazy to email in.

"Does Jack accept the fact, or at least consider the possibility, that some videogames have the possibility of not being inherently bad? And what would Jack consider as acceptable for everyone? Is it a case of all videogames being inherently bad, or would he be able to create one that is ok for people to enjoy?"

I want to know why he thinks games are bad. Yes, he has mentioned some examples, GTA, Killer 7, but he has never fully explained his blanket hatred for the medium.

Is there any game that would meet his approval, is what I want to know.

I think you're too late with the question there, Szczepaniak. The show's already been available on the site for a week now, I think.

ya gotta remember that this shit ain't personal. it's politics. it's something else entirely. one cannot hate the category of games - unless you're a calvinist.

It even got slashdotted!
