carcassonne, the classic game of medieval strategy, has just made its debut on xbox live arcade. vie for land with your opponents! march your armies against hordes of invading orks! use a range of magical spells to call divine retribution down on your enemies! the last one standing will be crowned kingcassonne to rule for all time.
i've actually never played the game before the live arcade version. i like it, though, and i like the way they've implemented it on the xbox. i would totally be down for some carcassonning. who's playing this? _________________

I played this for a bit this afternoon. It's MUCH more on my level than Catan. I actually really like it. Thumbs up. Not sure I'd like it online, but single-screen gaming is the shiznit.
One question though: where are all the orcs and dragons? What version are you playing?

I always liked the physicality of Carcassonne, putting together the landscape was at least as entertaining as competing against the other players. I'd be interested to see if that feeling survives the transition to a videogame. |

Ohhhh, I'll have to get the demo shortly. I play Catan a good bit, but only against computer opponents because I don't know anyone interested in it. Of course, now I'll need to learn how to play this. _________________ Come to me, Mordel. We shall depart. |

Chess still isn't available for Live is it? Not that I can complain about more board games, but it seems like such an obvious choice. |

So, some randoms in a Player Match just kept referring to me as a "N-word" because I was playing with black pieces.
I find it astounding that these Neanderthals can scrape together the brain cells to play board games, frankly. _________________ aerisdead |

I played the demo for this and actually kind of liked it! I would get it for $5 no problem, but at $10 I'm pretty sure I won't play it enough. I'm going to have my wife try the demo and see if she would be willing to play it with me, and if so I may get it then. _________________ “The average man has a secret desire to be a swaggering, drunken, fighting, raping swashbuckler.”

Played it on a friend's account yesterday. Pretty sure I prefer the physical version, mainly because the art is a lot better on the tiles and it, like most board games are really social experiences first and foremost and I haven't really been able to get that from an online situation yet. |

i finally got around to buying the full game. i've been playing against medium level computer opponents (i can consistently win against easy), and i'd really like to play against some human beings. _________________

Well, you don't even have gold account!
You should get a couple games for multiplayer before getting gold for a couple days. _________________ “The average man has a secret desire to be a swaggering, drunken, fighting, raping swashbuckler.”
