Did you watch that video man? There's something about the way the arms flail around that just looks terrible. I guess it's cool that your character can shoot his gun while meleeing with it, but it's uncool that you look like you walk around like Frankenstein carrying a pair of pistols.

so it's basically a continuation of the sort of speed optimization that carmack has always done?
i finished masters of doom last night, and it makes me want to buy hyperspace delivery boy, the demo of which i enjoyed a great deal. _________________

I've been following the game since its announcement, and so far have seen nothing but good things. I really don't see how you can complain about it being a "floating camera" since the POV rests squarely within a model, just like it did in Chronicles of Riddick. _________________ "This is the most fun I've ever had without being drenched in the blood of my enemies!" |

Alright, I watched the video again and I think my biggest problem is that he's aiming his guns toward the middle of the screen in a lot of the videos. It mainly happens when he's fighting enemies up close and he has to shoot them at point blank range. He aims his guns toward the middle of the screen and it looks like he's hugging someone with his guns and shooting them from either side. It looks really unnatural.

Yeah, I noticed this yesterday too. I bought it along with The Adventures of Darwin, which just looks kinda silly.

I hope so too, because it will get banned here for sure (just like the first one, even though it was on the self for a good month before it was pulled). _________________

Yeah, managed to get my hands on it back then. For all the criticism it gets, Manhunt is still a great gaming curio. _________________ "This is the most fun I've ever had without being drenched in the blood of my enemies!" |

I have to admit, Manhunt is one of those games I don't mind being banned. I know that's probably short-sighted of me; I just think it's a bad idea overall. I played the first game with a friend and didn't like the gameplay in the least; but more than that, I think the content actually is reprehensible. Previously the only game I considered to be truly burn-worthy was the more-racist-than-humanly-conceivable Ethnic Cleansing bullshit.
Speaking of games that never should have been released: watching this video of that 3DO "classic" Way of the Warrior—the Japanese version, no less!—brings up two important questions:
1) Back in the 90's, would the Japanese 3DO-buying public—all eleven of them—actually have known who White Zombie was?
2) Is it not supremely amazing that a game like Way of the Warrior (a) was released in Japan and (b) got a full Japanese translation?
There is something incredible about listening to the announcer shout, "SHU-AY-KEE JAY-KU WEENZU!" that makes me feel ashamed as a North American for being part of an audience that someone thought would like to play a game featuring such characters as "Shaky Jake" and "Ninja." |

I kind of want the Snood keychain, just so it can be the ugliest thing I own.
Also: Good gravy, Shaper, I'm not going to be able to concentrate for the rest of the day, now.

actually it's my mom's favorite too. it's still repackaged version of puzzle bobble. which she'll play with me whenever i have my jp-ps2 handy. it's just usually more convenient for her to play snood on her own computer. _________________

I just feel that Manhunt has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I feel it's mean-spirited and a terrible game to boot. At some point, yes, I believe one should draw a line. Manhunt kind of just took a big crap all over that line, and man, did it stink.
In other news, I saw this N64 mod via The Tanooki (via 4 Colour Rebellion). Holy crap! I would love this mod long time, you know? It doesn't help that I've been really hankering to play N64 games lately.
Speaking of which: does anyone think we'll ever see either of the Killer Instinct games on XBLA/VC? Ever? |

I don't remember. My friend and I played it tag-team style when it was released. I really forgot how far we got; he played more if it than I did (I became bored more quickly). |

Wow, no shit, huh? It's about time developers start giving some of the rabid game-music people from the net a kick at the can. Now, when are we getting a Mega Man compilation with all Minibosses music?
Cycle, you're not the first person I've known who didn't like Virt. I'm not even involved in the OCR community in the least; care to explain? |

Virt has been composing game music professionally for a long time, so it's not just like they're looking for people from the chiptune scene or something. He's worked for Wayforward before, too, most notably on Shantae. |

There's a whole history to the drama of the place, and it isn't alleviated by the fact that it churns out sup-par remixes of the same games constantly.
I'm really not up to going into it as the moment. _________________ "This is the most fun I've ever had without being drenched in the blood of my enemies!" |
