Hey, Contra's coming this week! I'm definitely going to grab the demo and give it a whirl. I've never played the arcade version before, and I'm hoping to rope somebody into a two-player game.

Is anyone else looking forward to it?

what i like about the arcade version is just the little map that they show you during those room-by-room stages.

I haven't been too happy with Digital Eclipses work with Konami games in the past, so I am for sure getting the demo before I buy the game. But yeah, I have been looking forward to this one. Next one that I know of which I'm looking forward to is Small Arms. That's going to be amazing for multiplayer.

This is one of the wrongest things I've ever read. When I press a diagonal direction and shoot, that means I want to shoot diagonally now, not five seconds from now.

Maybe it's just because I've spent more time with the arcade version and so I'm used to that one, but it feels better to me for some reason.

I played the demo last night while talking on the phone. It seems fast and fluid enough, but man that vertical orientation makes everything so small. not even a widescreen HD can save you now!

It controls well, but the more detailed and less iconic art of the arcade version doesn't seem as nice as the stark, yet more impactful NES game.

I don't know. I played the demo last night and it looks like crap, just like every other Digital Eclipse game does for the 360. Konami needs to fire their slacker asses.

Yeah, but you knew that version had problems when you bought it.

Anyways, you should bring it over soon and we can run a comparison. Mame/PS2/XBLA. I have a feeling the XBLA version will rate the lowest.
