I am so not interested in Street Fighter IV. Man, the artwork is crappy next to Third Strike. |

yeah. street fighter III is a gorgeous game.
what i guess (re: characters) is that after the relative commercial failure of street fighter III (well, third strike's the only street fighter i've ever cared about, but my impression is it hasn't been anywhere near as lucrative as II), capcom wants to capitalize on the most iconographic and widely-known character designs in the series. ken, ryu and chun-li were reintroduced to street fighter III's roster by the third iteration of the game; this seems like the inevitable next step. and considering how small the arcade market is today, this may be the easiest way for the game to have the widest amount of appeal possible. _________________

No kiddin'.
I suppose thinking positively, if this game is a hit it will at least reinvigorate the franchise and make future 2D hand-animated installments a bigger possibility than they are right now (that is, not a possibility at all after the commercial uber-flop that was SF3).
Did you know each character in SF3III has over a thousand frames of animation? It's true! |

not sure if this is news to anyone or not, but another eastern european developer is releasing another computer game based on another strugatski brothers novel that is also bound to be terribly buggy and fly under everyone's radar. unlike stalker, though, hard to be a god looks a little bland.
on the other hand, the plot hook is intriguing enough that i might have to give it a go. an in-depth preview of the game (and a brief description of the book) can be found here. |

It seems to me that Capcom has missed the point of retro/nostalgia and is just drag-and-dropping the old game into the new engine. Don't they know the difference between fanservice and a total lack of innovation? _________________ www.call-to-adventure.com

I'm still pretty hopeful about two things. First, that we haven't seen the whole roster, and that Capcom is just trying to please people who bitched about sf3 missing the old cast. Secondly, we don't know a whole ton about how the game actually works, so I am hoping something interesting will happen there.
I do think it actually shows a bit of promise that none of the bosses from sf2 are there. |

Skullomania needs to show up more, I don't think he even showed up in Namco X Capcom. Frank West needed an unlockable Skullomania costume. |

Now they will hear me bitching about the missing 3rd strike cast.
Makoto and Dudley would totally fit in here for the close combat the 3d-style games seem to prefer. More Hugo please.
I bet they'll pop-up in SFIV: Triple Threat :p

Self promotion ahoy...
We had the Klik of the Month Klub #8... not a bad turn out, not as rhinocerous as some previous, perhaps.
I turned my entry to the game, Virtual Sisyphus into the VENGANCE OF THE GODS TRILOGY:
VIRTUAL SISYPHUS! Drag the boulder to the top of the mountain!
VIRTUAL TANTALUS! Reach for the delicious grapes, or duck into the pristine water to slake your endless thirst!
VIRTUAL PROMETHUS BOUND! Drag the bound firebringer away from the eagle that seeks to consume his delicious liver
Clearly this is a one-note joke taken a bit too far...
So, by the time you get to Virtual Prometheus Bound, it starts feeling like self-parody, and maybe anything after Sisyphus is starting to gild the lily, such as it is.
And yet, I am pleased with the results. I had an abortive first pass at Virtual Sisyphus (which is blatantly stolen from "The Book of Sequels", as an "Existendo" game) in like 1997 or so, so it's nice that my skills and toolsets have increased to let me crank out a version in an hour. _________________ =/ \(<D)_/

Well 'Gohst' is an idiot.
We need to develop an art style which will instantly signify 'though rooted in the design tropes of old arcade games, this game is trying something clever', so there's no room for this kind of misunderstanding. |

I think taking meanings at face value is a pretty funny response to all irony and sarcasm. Let's all do that!
E.G.
Someone: OH MAN WE TOTALLY WATCHED ALL OF THUNDERCATS ON DVD, LOOK AT MY T-SHIRT WITH THE THUNDERCATS LOGO, THE 80'S ARE AWESOME
Me: But Thundercats is a show meant for children. Also, the aspects of 1980's culture you see as 'awesome' to me look dated and naive. What is wrong with you? |

It is a show for children designed to sell a line of toys. The writing is of poor quality and the direction is workmanlike and uninspired.

Thundercats isn't the point here, guys
Although, if you can convince me Thundercats is a good show when viewed outside of the filter of nostalgia or irony I swear I will stick my lips out of the window, stretch them around the world, in through your window and kiss your balls, and that's a golden promise |

i wouldn't worry too much, that site is fucking retarded. I could write 'Invader Rules!' on the back of my pencil case and by day's end more people would have looked at it than that guy's review. |

Harveyjames wrote: | Probably because they put a ban on all IPs that originate from CLOWNTOWN AUSTRALIA | This is most likely correct. I've seen it happen on many a forum where there is one Australian asshole who will use any Aussie ISP to get around bannination, so Australia in general gets the ban. _________________ Signature:
