So hey, this is pretty cool.

The creator describes it as "a 3D Metroid exploration beat em up RPG platformer". It's pretty sweet, actually, although there is a bug which doesn't let me pass the first area! Everyone seems to be fine with it though. How annoying! Anyway, it uses the Quake engine, is stand-alone and can be run on the Dreamcast. If you download it, apply the patch first!

Obligatory Zerstörer link as well as other stuff, notably Quake Rally and Painkeep.

I played Quake Rally like mad when I was younger. It made me proud to be Australian!

Hey, I remember playing most of these. The chess one reminds me though... anyone ever play the Archon mod for Quake 3? It was awesome. You had the board, and when two characters met it would go into a deathmatch and each piece had it's own powers and weaknesses and stuff. You know, like Archon. I played the hell out of it.

I highly recommend it. In fact, I should reinstall Quake 3 and play it some more.

Also, the X-Men TC was kinda pretty average. Multiplayer was cool though, because you actually got to pick an X-Man (or Woman) and use there powers in deathmatches.

There was a patch released that allows you to play as the actual X-Men in the singleplayer maps but when you consider you are running down corridors full of bland texture work you really have to ask yourself why you'd want to. Stick with three good commercial expansions instead, they are fun version of space dungeons.

I was getting that too so I opened that shit up in PakScape and had a bit of a squiz to see what comes after the non-existent map02. There are quite a lot of other maps that sound cool from their names.

From 10 on, I was a "husky." I'm now "average." As a chunky kid, I wouldn't turn down a pack (or two) of smarties.

Maybe you just don't know it? Are you talking about American Smarties (rockets) or the real stuff?

Man, do I ever want Smarties now.

American ones, then. The Smarties I'm talking about are these:

And you can see why they'd be a bit worse for the waistline than the rocket-Smarties. But so delicious!

The Canadian Smarties are, as much as it pains me to admit it, slightly better. Regular Smarties are still pretty awesome. One year in high school I ate a ridiculous amount of only-green Smarties because a friend got them from CostCo and didn't like green.

What you call "Smarties", we call "Rockets". They're identical candies.

What we call "Smarties" are similar to M&Ms, but better.

Our Smarties used to come with learnin' letters on 'em, to you know—learn ya. Hence, Smarties.

I've been playing a lot of Q3 recently (especially now that it's locked into Steam Community...mmm). It's great. It's always been my favorite, as I'm a big fan of multplayer. I've had a bunch of LAN get-togethers with my friends, and even played a little Team Arena. I've been getting better since I started playing this one friend of mine who's GREAT, and now I'm trying the main game on nightmare.

You shut the hell up.

Also, John Carmack gave me a free copy of Quake, a couple of weeks ago. I can't wait to get home and play past episode 1 for the first time!

hahaha, so defensive over the obviously inferior chocolate candy.

I am definitely now picturing John driving around with a car full of old copies of Quake, trying to get people to replay it. Noble cause, for sure.
