Did everybody else know that you could browse the internet using Opera on a DS?

It's supposed to come out soon in Japan (might even already be out) and I have heard that it is coming out in the US by the end of the year.

An official TV tuner is supposed to be coming out as well - I've seen video of it and it's neat, if you like that kind of thing.

Did anybody know this functionality is built into the PSP now? And with tabs?

It's not really all that useful to be honest. You've got to be tied to a wi-fi point in order to use it and most of the codecs and move stuff just aren't there. You CAN download stuff directly to the system though, so that's kinda cool. Then again, maybe I'm just spoiled by being able to use my sidekick to surf the internet anywhere....

The Opera browser comes out in May June for Japan, if memory serves.

They announced all kinds of new web support for the new, new iteration of the PSP, including Flash support which has some people excited for some reason. The PSP web browser is mostly useless if you have any other means of surfing the internet. It's slow and imputting information is worse than a cell phone. An American cell phone.

I might have to import the Opera browser. With the touch screen, at least I'll be able to type faster than on the PSP.

I think people are excited about the Flash support because it has the potential to open up a means to actually play Flash games like, this one on a portable with a control pad. This could be the way that indie development finally becomes relevant on the psp.

Yeah, I meant to convey sarcasam with the 'for some reason.' It didn't work out, though. Anyway, I can't imagine it'll run very well.

No. No, it isn't. Especially if you were one of "those people" that complained about the micro's screen size.

I will give one good reason for it.

The hotel I am at gives 1 day of free wireless internet per connection. You have to give the webpage front end your room info and then you can use the internet from that system as much as you want for 24 hours. I need the browser to connect to the internet and give the hotel my info so I can get Mega Man Powered Up downloads!
