I had a grand vision that I shared with Matt about a year ago regarding making The Gamer's Quarter into a site where people could share TGQ-style game writing, game art, and actual games by creating accounts, writing articles, submitting them for approval, and working with our editors to improve those articles until they were ready for us to publish them - pretty much like The Gamer's Quarter magazine was, but with a focus on online content of various types. If it took off we could later compile those articles into issues and sell them on the site and/or as e-books.

Would you guys want to work toward this effort? Do you think people would be interested? Is it a lost cause? I only bring it up because I've been using wordpress lately and it has a lot of the features I've been looking for built in, with many of them addable through plug-ins.

-Wes

I'll talk to Matt and get a secret install going. I'll let you know when it's up and we can figure out what exactly we want.

(assuming he's down)

I'm working on it in secret in my spare time. Check out: http://www.gamersquarter.com/newtgq/

If anyone knows how to theme things in Word Press and would like to help, let me know!

That's not me! It's Matt's Editorial from Issue 8.

And no. I'm pretty sure he's using the GI Bill or something.

You know, this isn't a bad idea. If anything ever gets off the ground, I would contribute, if only erratically.

I've kept TGQ on my favorites list against exactly this sort of eventuality.

So does this mean you're not interested in something like this?

I think he meant he's kept the site bookmarked as a hedge against the possibility of it never reactivating in any form.

What Mr. Mechanical said. "Just delete it," I told myself in darker hours. "Or move it into your 'Infrequent Updates' folder, at the very least." I wound up not doing either, and I'm glad, because I'd really like to see the site active again in some capacity, and the forum revitalized.

I'm down for this. I don't know if I could contribute writing, but I'd love to see this forum revitalized.

So I guess I never commented on this!

The other day I heard via twitter that Ghost Trick was out, and I hadn't even heard of the game's existence at that point, and I suddenly missed this place terribly.

I don't have a huge amount of time to dedicate to TGQ, but I would be happy to provide technical troubleshooting and light administration / spambot banning on a new TGQ similar to what I've done with the existing TGQ. I'd even consider doing some writing. I've got some shit to say, these days.

I got Ghost Trick! It's not as good as I'd hoped.

But thanks Apm! I figured you'd be in Wink
