"Nihilistic in Northampton"

"Simply Suicidal in Sheffield."

Okay this is worth reading just for the fake names.

"Catastrophically Cut-up in Cardiff"

I guess the linearity of JRPG's and the illusion of choice in American sandbox RPG's can provide a kind of percieved structure to your life in lieu of the retraction of the structure of a relationship.

Nah, actually it's just pathetic.

It's an interesting article if only to point out the place this form of entertainment is taking in our lives.

i'm usually the first in the hole with the cry of soul cancer and a woefully outdated sense of time and place, but is this really much different than throwing oneself into any other pursuit following a failure of love?

That's why I didn't see what was so remarkable about the point he was trying to make.

Then again I've had soul cancer for years now.

Part of the point is that RPGs and videogames in general seem to be excellent time-sinks, which is a real bonus in the post-breakup world where time goes slow, anything remotely emotional has the risk of being painful and all you really want it is something to distract you from how much things suck.

i always went with the methods suitable to my heritage; drink a lot, write bad poetry, drink, write, drink, write, cry, repeat.

man, i lost all that bad poetry (from three breakups) about four years ago now. thank goodness. that shit was blackmail material (literally hundreds of pages worth of blackmail material) it was the livejournal from hell if livejournal was a text document.

shit, do people even write private journals anymore?
