I just sent this through myspace to some norwegian girl who wanted to interview me about animation for her college class.

Can you guess which video game's dialogue I am trying to pass off as my own words of wisdom?

Quote:
"And, do you have some words of inspiration to
the next generations to come?"

Live for the future! There may be nothing left of this world
for you... but despite that, you must look
forward and walk a path of hope, and pursue your
dreams with a fiery gusto!
This is the only world our ancestors were able
to leave you... but you must forgive them. This
is your world!

Can you guess what game this nugget of gaming joy comes from?

A Mind Forever Voyaging?

Sounds kind of similar.

It's not A Mind Forever Voyaging.

Clues:

It's a recent game!

It's a game that pops up quite frequently in discussion!

This made me think of a project that I did for my friend's found poetry collection he's putting out called "Source." You guys might enjoy it:

Quote:
Metal Gear Solid 2

0052BF9D: Emma is... not doing very well.
0039AA2A: She's not dead, is she?
0052B8B8: Do you see Emma's Life Gauge underneath your own?
004D6A27: So Emma survived the ordeal...
004D158C: Emma is now regarded as a computer genius.
0052BED1: The only way to stop Arsenal Gear is to have Emma introduce the virus you're carrying into the system.
0052B023: Emma is on B1 of the Shell 2 Core. The clock is ticking -- locate her before Arsenal Gear goes online.
0052B50B: Press down and hold the Action button near Emma to hold her hand.
0052B93B: Keep her safe and get her to Strut L.
0052B59B: Push the Action button again to let go.
004A1B74: How's your bomb, Peter?
10632254: This is no ordinary nuclear bomb.
10632288: This weapon is capable of heavy hydrogen nuclear fusion
0052FA97: If the Big Shell explodes,
015363FE: A lot of people will get hurt... even more will die!
01535D8E: If this happens, your only option is to rapidly press a button
0046ADCC: Oh, you need to save. Just a second.
0046B0F9: Oh no. Snake, there wasn't enough space left on the MEMORY CARD PlayStation 2) to save the game.
06BBEBD4: Damn it!

edit: sorry if I'm derailing the thread, it just didn't seem worth starting a new one.
and so that I'm not entirely off-topic:

My guess is DQ8 just because of the word "gusto."

I should point out that I added the line about Fiery Gusto, the original line was 'and walk a path of hope, trusting that it
will sustain you when darkness comes'.

I probably should have left it as is.

That's what I was thinking too, but I'm almost sure that I didn't ever actually hear (read) that line.

P.S. You can't just have for example 'Final Fantasy' as a guess because it's so broad, you have to say specifically which Final Fantasy.

Well done! It's the King's line to Tetra and Link, from the end of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. I like it because it's, you know, applicable to today's world as well as the fantasy world of Hyrule.

Your prize is you get to tell me what you thought of my Ghouls and Ghosts comic you asked me to do for your magazine! Enjoy!

You know, Golgo 13 on the NES was the first time I saw that written.
At the time, it was a bit of a revelation.

In fact, my GameFAQs sig is
