it might be fun to create a space for space invaders extreme stories. here's your space. start invading.

stage 4 has me stumped so far, but that hasn't precluded smaller glories.

I shot perfectly on the invaders who turn sideways without a power-up. Usually, to dispatch them quickly you need to get a bomb from the preceding army of reds and shove them back in thick multiples, but this time I had been neither accurate nor smart in my defense. The "sliver" invaders approached an underpowered ship. I fired blindly at first, but luck was with me. Soon, I calmed down and started to pick off the slivers with measured bursts, strafing to adjust my timing while I overtook their slightly slower speed. Luck saved my ass once more when, with only three surviving invaders, they accelerated immediately after I fired. Thankfully, my shot had been on a trajectory to take out the lead invader, and their sudden swiftness, rather than force an error, led to the accidental demise of the leftmost sliver.

Another time, through no tactic of my own, I found myself between the sightlines of two giant invaders simultaneously flooding my periphery with a continuous, deadly beam. I still held some power in my laser upgrade, enough, at least, to mount a meek counter-offensive. In no time I had insinuated my own beam like Newton's third law between the two fatal blasts hemming me in. Their bulk proved a weakness as the azure blaze seared parts of each, and the colossi burst the same way they once attacked: in fated simultaneity.

Stage 5 is a stern mistress. I reached her core only once, and then what I met defied any prediction I could muster: drifting invaders, helpless yet deadly, cloistered in glistening bubbles. Confounded, I offered only the most pathetic challenge. And who knows when I will permeate this world's intricate membranes again?

i only played three tyimes and died at the first boss each time, but every time i get to a bonus stage i have to scream becuase i totally GOT BONUS and they're all so fucking fun

i cannot wait to own this game

Wait, is it true that this is coming out in June in North America? I actually felt a pang of "Whoa!" when I saw this game online, mostly because the last DS game I bought was my kanji dictionary a year ago.

It looks great, and is $20 to boot. Can't wait!

i went to play asia to look at bangai oh spirits and thats coming out here in august but i dunno if i want to wait that long
