I was nearly late to work playing this. Even without any secret passages, I'm in love with the simple run-jump-climb mechanic of it, and the beautiful aesthetic and music. I can easily see myself wasting hours here.

i definitely just beat this in one awesome playthrough. it's such a nostalgic game! it touches on so many things from the past, videogame-wise (like the dig someone mentioned above) that i can't quitre put my finger on, but i know is in there.

i found what I think is one secret my first run though, and that's all. i kept thinking i was going to go explore some side passage but i ended up making a beeline for the next item every time! i can't wait to replay this now. the screenshots just don't do this game justice -- the animation and sound/music is all so perfect.

I just started playing, I've found two of the items. This game is pretty great, although it's a good reminder that I suck at videogames, since everybody else is talking about how easy it is and I keep getting stuck.

[SPOILARZ]I can't get across the area with a big glowy lake in the middle, there are tunnels that go above it, my problem is that I think I can see what I need to do, I just can't pull it off because of my lack of skillz.[/SPOILARZ

i couldn't get through there my first time either. the thing with knytt is: there are multiple ways to reach (almost) any screen. you're not missing anything by not completing that screen that you can't access by another route.

also, if you think you've explored everything (and i mean everything), try pressing "end".

I actually managed to get through there, through judicious use of the wall jump and many retries. I've found all but two of the items now, as well as two relatively minor secrets.

here are a last few secrets that can't be discovered in the game itself (don't try them until you've explored everywhere):

under "[Secrets]" in the settings.ini file, add the line

Extra=Hang Glider

or

Extra=Balloon

I found the MR code just now, without using the map. I think it would go well with some of the hidden text in dessgeega's post.

So, checking those maps, I've discovered that in Within a Deep Forest there is a secret hidden minigame which I had never unlocked, despite having received the two minigames outside of the game proper. How do I open this?

i just completed the twenty-five-screen-long tunnel with no special abilities. it's great because it uses the player's abilities in a way that is actually challenging, whereas most of the proper game is laid back. (the pillars under the bridge are also hard.) now i feel like i'm done with the game.
