It's from a first party Sony PS3 game apparently. I'm not sure which one or where it came from, but I know one thing: Microsoft hasn't been given a reason to be shaking in their boots just yet.

I can't wait for E3!

Those aren't in game. They're game engine. So my assertion stands.

Game engine is in-game. Although, no, it wasn't running on PS3 hardware. The MGS4 stuff was just running on hardware that Konami thought would be similar to the PS3 hardware. Kojima said that what they made would run on the 360... so..

Yea, after seeing what MGS2 looked like with the in-game engine then seeing the PS2 version I am going to continue to assume that it will either be A) the same, or B) Better (as was the case with MGS2).

less detail really is all. Also the rain on the tanker did not look as good. I am going based on the trailers that were included for The Documents of MGS2.

It's a guy on a bunch of brown.

But doesn't this really have to do more with art direction than hardware? Who is this demo thing being made / presented by?

The screens are from Untold Legends, which will apparenly also be coming to the PS2 and PSP at the same time. The latest Issue of OPM has a few other games that don't look much better. I'm sure the PS3 will be visually impressive eventually, but now that we're getting to the point that they've got not choice but to show off playable games the cloak that was pre-rendered demos is starting to come off.

Oh, and most of the reason this looks like shit is because the art direction is by the everquest guys.

I'm not going to say anything snide about human resources and 3D geometry because this is a cross platform release, but I'm thinking it.

I'm resurrecting this old thread to say that Untold Legends actually doesn't look terrible for the PS3. It looks kind of like a Gauntlet/Dark Alliance game with God of War fighting thrown in. It'll probably end up being terrible, but the latest movies sort of redeem these early screenshots.

Interesting!
