Yeah, I took the advice and read all the links in that news post. Kind of prepared me, in a way, for things we may eventually encounter.
That, and it did extinguish some of the pluck, yeah. But that was kind of needed.
edit-Also, keep in mind we haven't really proven ourselves to anyone yet. So far we're just some guys from the Insert Credit forums. It's all about street cred in the fast paced world of video games publications. |

I'm interested in writing for this.
I'm not sure if you'd consider me at all though, since I am not very prolific when it comes to writing to begin with on Insert Credit's forums.
Still, the offer... or request? Stands. I do have things to write about.

Why does it counter the plucky attitude?
Reading that is what motivated me to contact Shapermc asking if I could write for the team.

I thought to myself, "Wow! People with the balls to go against such adversity, throwing caution to wind and riding this turbulance like some wild rodeo rider who has nothing to lose...." and so my thoughts went on, for a good five minutes actually, with the same kind of mounting hyperbolic waffle, reaching dizzying heights.
And then it hit me: for there to be such guts, this thing must obviously be good. Not just good, but golden, and I wanted to to get in on the ground floor! Hence my PM to Shaper with examples of my work, with the tentative hope of contributing form issue 2 onwards.
Looks like you might be stuck with me now.... hopefully. 
It envoked in me quite the opposite feeling, the pluckiness now as a result is almost overpowering. I think I need to now lie down. |

Thanks, that makes all the hardwork and effort that went into it worthwhile.
Well, that and the paycheck and army of screaming female fans, but I'm glad people notice that it was well researched. Toughest thing was the timeline, why are there no records of release dates? I started writing retro articles for magazines because I was tired of all the crappy retro features I've read that have been totally factualy innacurate and just plain wrong.
Anyway, I'm actually South African/British, with a Polish surname, I just happen to live in France at the moment. (dont ask, its a long, fairly boring story)
Otherwise, I'm glad to be on board Mr Toups!  |

Yeah, sure.
Your article is mostly correct. Mostly because the gaming scene in Russia changes drastically every time a new system comes out. Plus you obviously didn't have a boatload of space to throw around.
Yeah, the Russian language is filled with Englishms acquired during the last 15 years. My favorite ones are: Rpgeshka for RPG and Nekromant for Necromancer.
Also, even though many people have consoles, they're nowhere near as big as PC games. |
