In your opinion: what are the most adult games in theme / gameplay that you have encountered? and Why? |

Nintendogs: because getting a dog automatically turns you into a middle-class suburban white guy.

Noctis. I think it seems like a hobby. It makes me feel like I'm middle-aged. I would elaborate if this wasn't a purely intuitive judgement.
I like yours though Wes. _________________ | Little bird fighting against a bat sect game | |

Possibly Planescape: Torment.
Or, looking at it a different way, maybe Windows Minesweeper or Solitaire. |

Custer's Revenge wass pretty tame. I'm sure 20 years ago, it was more shocking.
I just deleted the ROM. I'll go skateboard a little then take a shower before dinner/Lingeage II. _________________ Collector of over 1,538 strategy guides. That's weird, right?

In terms of writing, yes. However this requires you to ignore the fact that the character designs were done by a 12 year old fantasy artist who has never seen a real woman before. _________________ where were you when nana komatsu got a wii? |

Were they bad? It's been a few years, but I just remember them being the usual tiny Baldur's Gate-looking characters. The portraits were kind of ugly, but that didn't detract much for me. And I thought the characters themselves were excellent.
I can name a whole lot of games that fit your description, but I don't remember seeing it in Torment. |

You could only really see it if you checked the character profiles section in the journal, where they had large CG portraits for every character and NPC in the game. _________________ where were you when nana komatsu got a wii? |

In terms of writing, I would have to say Deus Ex although I could be wrong, I still have not finished it. In terms of overall content; Silent Hill 2 easily. |

Tetris? Because you know that you can never 'win' you can only get a high-score / personal best. It also doesn't rely on fictional settings or trying to create fictional characters. |

Gonna have to disagree with this. Not with the choice - Tetris is a damn fine mature game - but with the assertion that fictional settings and fictional characters somehow denounce maturity. TV and Movies are fictional for the most part, yet they're not viewed as immature and unadult. I'm also not sure if having a win condition is inherently immature, but I don't know if that can really be argued in either direction.
I did come up with another game that could possibly be viewed as mature. The Gran Turismo series. I choose this above other sports games because it lacks the idiotic commentary and rough edges that basketball and football games bring with them. It's more of a no-nonsense simulation that knows it's a videogame just enough to be fun without acting dispensable. Bonus points go to GT4 for including drivers in the cars.
