Projekt A.R.I.E.L. (ARTificial Research in Electronical Life) proudly presents the Far Cry "Sturm - MOD"! The mod is part of a theatre / media arts production done in summer 2008 as a project of students of the scenical arts at the university of Hildesheim, Germany. It provides an environment in which the places and actions described by William Shakespeare in his play "The Tempest" (German translation: "Der Sturm") can be visited, explored, experienced and reflected by the player. The mod was performed live in the production "Projekt A.R.I.E.L." as can be seen here: PICS . More content can be found on the MODDB - SITE as well as on the HOMEPAGE of "Projekt A.R.I.E.L." .
Please read the INFO.txt after downloading to learn how to set up the mod! If you are not familiar with the background of the play, it is recommended that you read the STORY.txt file provided in the mod folder.

Looking forward to your feedback and comments!

Didn't Pathologic mesh game and theatre too?
And I guess if you push it a bit Dynamite Heady could count, and that level in Psychonauts. |

Its not about a level depicting a theatre as in pathologic... It is about a theatre play (the places and situations described in "The Tempest") combined with the interactiveness of a video game... !
Looks like you have to check it out to see for yourself...

Well, Pathologic's "level depicting a theatre" was only the surface, without being too spoilery it was mostly a trick preventing the player from immediately considering things may be the other way round. |

Nonetheless I am convinced that the SturmMOD is completely different than other approaches on the topic of theatre & games... but I leave it to you to decide for yourself after you played it...

I find this interesting and will check it out eventually. I need to see a production of The Tempest first, though... _________________

Good advice... after all "Prospero's books" is cited in the SturmMOD!
@Cycle: If you just want to know the background story of the play before playing the mod, you can read it in the STORY.txt file in the mod folder!
@dessgeega: That would be even more work but it sounds like a challenge!

This is pretty impressive! I actually have a copy of Far Cry now too, so I may check this out. It's probably better than the game itself... _________________ “The average man has a secret desire to be a swaggering, drunken, fighting, raping swashbuckler.”
