Ok, So I have a new PC and have windows XP/Vista dual boot installed on it. I don't want more than one user, so I disabled other users, but now it asks me to log on when I boot up and when I hit ctrl+alt+del I get taken to a screen with options (windows security). I want the damn thing to just boot straight to my desktop and not to have that windows security thing come up when I hit ctrl+alt+del. How do I make this happen? I know it's possible because this is how my laptop is set up.

Hideous bloatware.

Here's how.

Doesn't fix the ctrl+alt+del thing, though.

Try here, especially the comments section.

Go to control panel > user accounts > change the way users log on and off > disable the welcome screen and fast user switching

Eh, that's not really what I had in mind. I was hoping to get rid of the welcome screen and still be able to get the other stuff to work. Oh well.

On the other hand I did manage to get my old IBM Model M keyboard working! It's freaking awesome.... so damn clicky.
