What motherboard do you have? I have that problem and it's an Asus that uses an Attansic port. If you use a PCI card, what brand? _________________ Come to me, Mordel. We shall depart. |

I believe you use Windows, and if so...
Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware Tab -> Device Manager Button -> Network Adapters
This will also indicate if there is a problem. I haven't had it offer me any viable solutions before, but the errors do help to nail down what's wrong.
Your motherboard's manufacturer tends to pop up during the boot sequence. Unless you have a Dell or HP, since those are custom boot screens with a Dell logo or whatever, then you will have to go to the company's website. Is it a custom build? _________________ Come to me, Mordel. We shall depart. |

a lot of wireless routers, btw, require a direct lan connection for admin setup.
check the manual first. _________________

I bought two new playstation adapters for my computer
supposedly they are lag free which means Bad Blood Jinzhu and I will be able to play KoF and he will have no reason to cry about missing his combos anymore due to real or imagined lag
let's talk about our recent purchases in this thread in a close-ended and self absorbed manner ok |

Critique my new upgrade build on NewEgg
the Mobo is supposed to be a GigaByte P35 board...not sure which model. I wonder if the listing got pulled. It just disappeared out of nowhere. I might go even cheaper since I don't care as long as it's stable and runs PC800 DDR2 decently. I have all the integrated stuff on separate cards except LAN.
I may try XP 64bit for this system. I've heard it has matured and is now more or less compatibility-issue free. Emulating 16bit games can't be too hard, right? |

device manager is a handy section to know about though. I think we all learned a little something here. _________________ Come to me, Mordel. We shall depart. |
