Aside from Rez, I haven't seen much in video games that seems inspired by demos. Having just got a new (used) computer that actually has a graphics card, I've been catching up on some of the demos I wasn't able to run on my recently deceased machine.
I've thought for years how interesting video games patterned after demos could be--flying through the ubiquitous tunnels, moving through constantly shifting scenery, and having everything timed with the music. Just look at these:
Lifeforce by ASD

828 by Farbrausch

(Virtually everything by Farbrausch is excellent.) |

yeah
future crew was the bomb diggity. What they could make a 386 do was jawdropping. Technically and aesthetically.
Did someone make a DVD w/ recordings of all those old demos? They ain't always the emulation friendliest things... _________________ =/ \(<D)_/

Then later they went and made Max Payne. _________________

Youtube has Future Crew's Second Reality, along with a port to the C=64 and a port to Real Life, which was a little odd.
I wonder why "Panic" isn't available? For my money, that was a more artistically balanced work. _________________ =/ \(<D)_/
