No, no. Do scare the new kids. If they stick around they're worth keeping. _________________

Maybe if the ratio here of intelligent conversation to random lewd comments in all caps were a little lower, that would be true. I'd rather prefer it if hazing newcomers didn't become the norm, though. |

I'm here via sb.net. I've known of TGQ for a while, but this is my first visit, and I liked a lot of the article titles I saw on the front page.
I'm currently harboring a crush on Knytt Stories, Silpheed, Interstate '76, and Half-life 2. _________________

HI I'm Daphny Drucilla Delight David and i really love videogames, even though i hardly finish them. I watch a lot of speed runs, i found this site through select button so a lot of you guys know me from there
i still havent recieved my fucking gamers quarter magazines
People mute me on xboxlive a lot because i get really excited and yell at the game.
I have a boyfriend who buys every single game the second it comes out so I'm probably in the middle of at least ten videogames, and right now it seems like i only have patience for portable games.
I work as a dog trainer and really love animals and suck at introductions
i really suck at introductions um
One time when i was five, I drank an entire bottle of robotussin and got really really really high on dxm. i threw up all over the couch and i thought ghosts were leaping from my mouth, at which point i blacked out
my mom tells me that i just started chanting "robotussin robotussin" in a monotonous deep and inhuman voice, i kept chanting it and rocking back and forth all the way to the hospital, and when i got there i threw up on the doctor and chanted while vomiting. i kept telling everyone that my mom gave me all the robotussin so she was sure that she was going to get sued for child endangerment but nothing happened
they pumped my stomach and i was fine
there was another time where i wanted to make a megatransformer with all my toys so i put all my transformers in a pile and set them on fire in my room
my door and window was closed becuase id idnt want my mom to smell the smoke
i passed out from the fumes and my mom had to take me to the hospital again, where the same doctor treated me
a time after that my mom went to work and left the iron on, i opened the curtain on the window that was above the ironing board and as i spread my arms to open the curtain the outside of my forearm pressed against the iron
i didnt notice that my arm was burnt until i felt itchy and scratched the area that i burned nad when i finished itching i looked at my hand and it was full of melted flesh
rushed back to the hospital, same doctor.
oh yeah all three of these incidents were within a few months
i hate the birthday song
i like kinky sex
um i love qoo, he is adorable
i have incredibly detailed dreams
i had a really fucking hard time tpying this without using the capslock key |

Hello. My name's Joseph Quade, and I enjoy playing games. I heard of this place through Select Button, more specifically dess and Daphny. Hey SB dudes.
I've just recently taken an interest in becoming a video games journalist. I think this is a good place to start. I want to start building up a portfolio of my work so I can both gain experience in the field and have something to show potential employers and peers alike. I have no professional experience or education in the field, but I think I write well. I also think this is a good place for me to hone my skills as a writer, hopefully I'll find some harsh critics. I'd like to set a periodic goal for myself, say, (p)review one game a week, or something like that. I don't know what it takes, anyway, but I'm giving it a shot. Without further ado, I'll introduce myself in greater detail!
I generally go through phases of what I enjoy playing at any given time, during the winter it's generally strategy and roguelike games, and during the summer it's generally first person shooters.
Right now I'm currently enjoying The Orange Box heartily, as well as Puzzle Quest and Phoenix Wright 2. My favorite game is Shadowgate, and a couple of others are Planescape: Torment, Earthbound, Stonekeep, Metal Gear Solid 3, and Final Fantasy 4.
Music is an aspect of videogames that is very important to me, and as ane xtension to that, it's also a very important part of life. I play guitar. Every so often I make music using Fruity Loops.
Aside from the aforementioned writing affinity, I don't really have any goals, dreams, or aspirations. I'm single and fine with that. I'm not racist, gender biased or sexual preference biased, though I pretend to be at times for kicks. I love puns, adventures, and Cheez-Its.
Well, I guess that's enough info for now. If you have any comments, I welcome helpful PMs and criticisms. Complaints you can send to Daphny. 'til then, adios! |

And in all honesty, these days I prefer a rewarding single player experience for the most part.
to be fair though, after I found out about the xbox live scene, it'd kind of rekindled my love for competitive multiplay. |

I've been posting here for a long time, but:
I'm Andy, and I like videogames. My dream is to be a history professor. I just finished creating my LibraryThing profile and discovered I own way more comic books than I thought. I got my sister addicted to Devil's Crush the other day. I love TGQ because the writing is wonderful and everyone here is so nice--the attitude is far less abrasive than say, IC or SB.
Really, I just like David Lynch, Patrick McGoohan, the Wii and action films. |

Greetings Andy!
I wanted to teach history for a while there. Then my school told me I was never added for that degree, and that it would take another three years to graduate in the program. Please become one so that I may live through you and your deeds. Hooray for your future progress and my jealousy disguised as goodwill! _________________ Come to me, Mordel. We shall depart. |

Hello, name's Eric, but Aderack's the true Eric 'round these parts, so it would probably be more appropriate of me to introduce myself as Sarsamis*. I'm 19, male, Caucasian, rather hefty, have long hippie hair, live in Chicago, and am currently a college freshman. I'd consider myself to be a bit of an ass, but the general consensus amongst people who know me is something along the lines of "that Eric's a pretty good guy." I suppose this would be a good time to list hobbies or something... Do video games count?
Speaking of games, this introduction wouldn't be very complete without at least some brief elaboration on my tastes in said field of interest. I've delved in and have enjoyed games from most genres, but I'd have to say I have a great deal of loathing for just about all MMO RPGs and most "sandbox games." In fact, I honestly don't even like to think of them as video games, just interactive pieces of software. I'd give that same assessment to a lot of these "casual games" that are going around now-a-days as well and wouldn't consider most of them to be legitimate video games. This doesn't necessarily mean that I'm opposed to all non-game interactive pieces of software though. I have nothing against Suda51esque student films if they're interesting, or Cactus like game-parodies. I occasionally try to be a hipster and play obscure freeware and import games and such, but I typically revert back to mainstream console games. Part of that has to do with the fact that I'm really picky about what I play my games on. Specifically, it has to be a television. Playing for long periods of time on computer monitors depresses me for some reason.
I'm a rather current gamer I guess since I posses every current gen (we really need to stop calling these "next gen") platform except the PSP, but I have difficulties taking pleasure in a lot of the games I buy for them. This disdain often comes from the subconscious level, so when asked why I don't like them I often find myself personifying them and saying seemingly nonsensical things like, "it lacks conscious" or "it's confused." And I hate it when games lie to me. Generally I'm more weird and emotional, in an awkward sort of way, about gaming than most.
Hmm, what else... I think the Mega Man X games on the SNES posses the ultimate 2D platformer gaming engine, which in turn causes me to dislike a great deal of platformers that don't play like MMX, where (assuming the player incorporates dashing into everything like I do) every movement is a special technique of sorts. Also, for a hundred weird, anal reasons, OoT is my favorite game of all time.
I've been hanging around on SB, making mostly uninspired posts, for awhile now. I'm just now checking out TGQ because Daphaknee and Bleak recommended it. This seems like a cool, care free environment.
*No, it doesn't mean anything. My screen name's just a random arrangement of syllables I came up with when I was young. I originally used it as the name of a character in an idea for a game I'd think of when I was bored, but when I started getting involved with internet affairs, I decided to use it for myself. |

hello Eric the Second!
I propose monitors depress you because they are almost universally much smaller than televisions and many/most people look down at them, whereas with a TV you're usually looking dead-even or up, and therefore you feel perhaps more overpowered by the experience.
I prefer the monitor myself (since my TV is dying) as I can hunch over it like an arcade cabinet and angle it backwards and feel my eyes dying as I play.
please delineate how sarsamis should be pronounced or enunciated
my guess is sar-sam-is because it seems most straightforward
though it could be sars-amiss which is amusing on some level _________________
