And I bet you are too!

It's time to fight back! It's for me to lord MY stuff over people, and you can join in too! Show that dess she isn't the only queen in this deck of cards!

First, my magazine collection!

This here consists mostly of Next Generation magazines, plus an assorment of other random magazines, mostly one off purchases.

In here are my macaddicts, pcpowerplays and more random magazines. The one on the top left is the first and only issue of jumpbutton, plus a note from the guy who sent it to me apologizing for it's lateness. Something about triplets! He was a cool guy, I wish I had a chance to write for this magazine. It was very TGQish! On the right is an issue of edge. I don't have many of these, but underneath are issues 1-12.

Ok, here are more magazines, la de dah.

The first and only issue of the australian guide to computer games. Covers stuff from the very early 90s/very late 80s.

The first two and only issues of Quandary, an indie aussie mag dedicated to adventure, puzzle and rpg games. The people who made this are great people, and I actually began my career in writing thanks to them (and the website they run which is much more succesful than the magazine). The magazines sure make me miss the early-mid 90s!

All of the electronic fun magazines I own, the first gaming mag. Great stuff, and ironically more intelligent than most magazines which followed. The earliest issue I have is one month younger than me. Some of you may recall me scanning some articles back at insertcredit. I should finish scanning the entire magazines should something happen to them. Also is a CVG issue, plus the official nintendo power SMB3 guide. Eat THAT, whoever is that guy who collects guides.

My two (2) Mother 3 Boxsets. Insides follow.

This here is the Invisible Alien Neutralizer! Basically, it's Enemy Zero/Hunt The Wumpus portable. The device beeps, and depending on the sound, it tells you where the alien is. You only have one shot at getting him so don't screw up!

A collection of PC games. Two marathon trilogy boxsets (one sealed), one sealed Id Anthology (which I plan to open one of these days since I'm never gonna sell it unless I have to), Mario Paint with mouse stuff, Collecters edition of Dreamfall including soundtrack CD and art book, Special edition of Evil Dead: Hail to the king including a copy of the original movie (on VHS!), Star Trek 25th anniversy special edition featuring a video, a button and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember, Outcast, Tribes Vengence, Vampire Bloodlines, Daikatana, Gabrial Knight 3, The Last Express (still havent opened this one yet, I probably should) and Omikron: The Nomad Soul.

My Tiger Mechwarrior LCD game that doubles as an action figure with interchangable arms. On the back is the LCD screen and the controls for the game.

My collection of game related books and graphic novels, plus stuff that wouldn't fit on my "serious" literature shelf. The game related books ARE:

Mother Encyclopedia
Kings Quest Book 1: The Floating Castle
Virtual Organisms (about artificial life)
The Mactintosh Gamers Bible
The PC Gamers Bible
The Computer Strategy Games Bible
Masters of Doom
Naked Before God (not really game-related, but I bought it because it was written by the Alley Cat creator)
Zork I: Force of Krull (written by Steve Meretzky
The computer, console etc encyclopedia

P.S all the shitty books on this shelf were gifts which I'll probably get rid of soon.

I have no idea why I bought this thing, I haven't even played a Dragonquest game. Plus the blue one looks cooler. It must have been cheap or I was stoned or something. Actually, I say no to drugs so I guess I was just stupid. I'll probably put it up for trading soon.

I bought this because it was cheap (like $5) plus it just looked so cute. It has fluffy handcuffs around it's tounge.

hey what how did this get in here, this isnt my bag baby honestly

My two copies of Nahan, an ultra-rare game which I found two of at the same time. I had been trying to track this game down for like seven years. I managed to find one of the guys behind the game, I plan to interview him some time about his experience. He seemed pretty keen about it. The game itself is shanghai but in FULL 3D and actually makes use of the extra dimension and it's pretty brilliant.

A drawer full of random stuff. The handheld model of the Tiger-RX (I have the virtual boy knock-off around somewhere, too), Pocket Sakura, Gameboy camera and printer, a keyboard for my mac classic, bomberman tin and some tiger lcd games. Oh, and some barcode battlers game.

Oh look, I have the 3D controller too, Dess, how you like dem apples. I even have the box and all the inserts and christmas nights too boot. Yeah, stick that in yer pipe and smoke it. To really add insult to injury, I also have the collecters edition of Policenauts with the artbook. Yeah. That's right. Even if the slipcase thing is a little beat up.

Alright that will do for now. Stuff not pictured... uh... final fantasty tactics trading cards... my copy of segagaga... my actual game collection... games that weren't released that i can't talk about.. some other crap.

Anyway, I actually am trying to get rid of lots of this stuff right now, only keeping the stuff that actually means something to me in some way. So alot of stuff will be going! Keep an eye on the trading thread in the future. Or maybe ebay.

"Candleman, the world's best candles?" Is that for real?

Here's my entry: all three issues of 1up Zine, the only gaming publication other than TGQ that matters! I've never met anyone who has these. Do any of you?

Issue #2 actually has a 3D cover, with 3D glasses glued to the inside for you to use. 1UP Zine is a warm, fuzzy, labour of love; each issue is like a little present.

I have the same floor here in Toronto... And the same three issues of 1up zine... in Scotland.

So the issues aren't easily verifiable but, you know, I'm sure you all believe me.

I'm extremely curious about the insides of the Mother Encyclopedia and the Meretzky Zork book.

Also, I have the three 1up zines. They're lovely! I hope they aren't being bent even a little by anything wherever they are in my room.

You guys ever get stoned and sit in a daze wondering what kind of person has stuff like this? This happened recently between myself and my hard drive.

I say no to drugs!

But I do wonder why I bought certain things sometime, but it's no worse than any other person I know in real life. Mine is just more videogame focused.

I'll take pictures of the books when I get my camera back.

The Zork one is a CYA book, just FYI.

Hoh, a CYOA? But.. it's by Steve Meretzky, right? So is it great, or what?

Besides Lone Wolf, which stretches the definition, Creature of Havoc is the only CYOA I've ever been interested in. Though I liked those Mario books when I was young!

Hey!!!

Well, their magazine has a very different approach; it is much more traditionally zine-like; personal, hand-made, crafted. That's what makes them so precious, though!

I don't think they're cooler. I think TGQ is more impressive because you've managed to publish for longer than three issues and keep up a similar level of quality writing (that only improves, too.)

That's true. Shaper has beat the three-issue curse of zines, which is more prevalent that one might think.

Not really, I just haven't sold any of my game stuff my whole life until recently, so I have quite a build-up. I've been thinning it out lately... lots of stuff in the pictures I got rid of long ago.

This is what TGQ's cover would look like if Dhex was editor:

WHY CAN'T SUPER MARIO LOOK LIKE THIS? INSIDE

Ha ha but seriously. I'm not sure what 'hipster' means. I'm pretty sure I've never met a 'hipster'. I think it's a bit like when dumb kids called smart kids 'brainiacs', nerds call people who are into cool things and dress well 'hipsters'.

harvey, that's far too well-dressed for me. or rather, far too much effort.

also, we all know what the emasculated other looks like. if you ever come to new york you'll burn skinny jeans in solidarity after about 30 minutes.

1UP Zines

I do.

I also have both version of Issue 1. Not to brag and all. Oh, and an article in the not yet printed #4! Not to brag and all.

I also have a very keen Ridge Racer 4 calender that's all Reiko in all her glory that I'm pretty sure everyone will lust after if I ever posted pictures. Which might not be such a bad idea... I bet I could fetch a lot of green for it.
