So, what programs do you guys use for burning CD-ROMs?

I mainly do straight music CDs, although I do sometimes do data. I've never found a program that really sits right with me, either they have technical issues or they're a tad too generic (don't have enough options).

Toast is practically flawless, if you have access to a Mac.

I generally burn data DVD-R's these days... I used to burn music to CD-R but, considering how easy they scratch and stuff, I now back-up my library on external HDDs instead. I will sometimes burn video DVDs but it is pretty rare since I can fit an entire season of a show on one data disc but, the same season, would require at least 3 or 4 if I burned them as true DVDs.

Here's one. I've tried several times, for several people, to burn DVDs full of mp3 files. Those with PCs have no problems, those with Macs can't access any of the stuff. I'm using Nero on WinXP here and I have no idea why that should be the case?

XP's built-in data cd functionality has always been fine by me.

for audio, i use winamp, which isn't the greatest, but it's already my primary media player so it's less messy that way.

everything else, alcohol 120%.

huh. that's very weird. the files themselves aren't in a protected folder or anything like that, are they?

or are you burning a dual layer dvd for people with older dvd drives?

oh, and i use toast (and handbreak, zog bless em) at work. only had a few coaster issues (got caught in a burn cycle with one dvd at 98% verification) but otherwise works fine.
