First, it's called No More Heroes, which sounds kind of cool and will almost certainly be changed for the US release. Second, we have a 1up preview from which we can maybe glean something. As in, this appears to be Suda Horribly Critiques GTA. I hate Killer 7 and like GTA, but holy god if I don't think this could be an amazing game.

I preferred the one-word title to this three-word title.

The story is pretty ridiculous.

Ridiculous more like great.

Seriously, more games should start out with the main character winning something on ebay.

You misspelled awesome and totally appropriate for the state of the medium today.

lol nerds

killer7 was a brilliant game, despite the lengthy cutscenes, and the control scheme for this is sounding genuinely interesting.

Man, I don't think there's anyone alive that wouldn't at least be mildly interested in playing as Travis Touchdown in the town of Santa Destroy.

Wow, OK, this is turning out to be great. I don't mind the name change much, it doesn't matter too much really. In fact, it gives it a more negative edge to it, so that's probably better reflecting the game. This game can go so-o right. I hope this is out by fall of next year if it gets done by summer in Japan.

Anyways, 1up is passing off scanned screenshots as their own with water marks now? What the hell? Oh, and "Hype for this game = OMG!"... what the hell internet?

Did you think I was implying 'ridiculous' as something other? Seeing Travis' future bike and even the name of the town confirms what type of ridiculous is being aimed for.

And I kind of want this game to be like Bushido Blade but it will probably be more like Devil May Cry 3.

i like the new name better. "heroes" by itself is somewhat generic.

so is there more to this game than "videogames lol" + "hey looks like killer7"?

It's kinda funny that the Beam Katana looks like a flourescent light.

It looks like Suda is going to rip GTA and its fans a new one. As one would expect with this kind of thing, he'll have to do it well to make it not suck. I'll also put a lot of money on this one being even more overt with the "fuck you america" theme.

1up is down for maintanence. Thanks for breaking the internet, guys.

On the flip side, this is giving me a chance to think that by "showing up GTA" you mean that the main character will be an otaku who has a large environment to explore with sandbox (aka emergent aka poorly designed) gameplay, but has extreme difficulty in leaving his house.

I personally always got it mixed up with this. I like the new title, though it makes me think of a Hi-Standard song. But whatever.

I wouldn't put it past Suda to fill the game with The Stranglers reference much like killer7 had The Smiths ones.

I want a game that feels David Bowie-ish, Thin White Duke period.

Oh, god, I would love Suda to do a Bowie reference filled game.

Reading that interview, I have a newfound respect for Suda. I roll my eyes at the concept of a person or company who's going to 'save gaming', but if anyone could do it I get the feeling he could.

Needless to say, I'm getting more excited about the title the more I hear about it. Is there a tentative release timeframe yet?

Also, every bit of info I read on No More Heroes just makes me want to find a copy of Killer 7 and finish that finally. I'm not sure why I've waited so long...
