So, as I have hinted at in many threads around this fine forum, and other fine forums, there is going to be an absolutely colossal New Year's party at a particular house in Louisville, Kentucky on Dec. 31st. This shindig is being hosted by Smartblue, John/Thunder Force 6, and I, and will be packed so full of awesome, you won't just shit a brick. You'll shit the entire goddamned chimney.

I figured some organization was needed, so everyone can get their travel plans down.

CURRENT LIST OF CONFRIMED INTERNET PEOPLE

  • Mr. Apol
  • Mr. Business
  • Churippu
  • The rest of their posse!!
  • 108 + posse
  • stotelheim
  • Machine Gun Heart
  • Toups
  • Shapermc + posse
  • zebadayus
  • thatbox

CURRENT LIST OF MAYBES/UNCONFIRMED

  • boojiboy7
  • Piljiabros
  • emx + km
  • DaleNixon
  • FocusRambo

THE AS-YET-UNNAMED BAND

  • 108 on Guitar/Big Muff
  • Toups on Drums
  • Mami on Bass(?)

AND YOUR HOSTS

  • Smartblue
  • Thunder Force 6
  • Joe

There are just as many non-IC people as there are IC people attending this, so the guest list is quite bursting open with very awesome, dynamic, fun to be around people.

If you are on this list, you need to email me at joe AT largeprimenumbers DOT com with when you plan on arriving, and how you plan on getting here!
Directions will be handled on a person by person basis, so make sure you email me, lest you have no idea where our house is. I recommend that you bring some money for food and drink! Louisville isn't an expensive city, by any means, but it is a city of restaurants and good drink.

There will be (optional) boozing, awesome music, and great people. No reason not to come! Updates will come to this thread as they become relevent.

INFORMATION FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO CRASH HERE
You are more than welcome to crash here. We promise a few couches and a lot of floorspace. Pretty much everyone who is attending who is from Louisville (who doesn't live here) is going to be advised to find a DD, so we should have plenty of room for people. We can provide pillows and blankets, if you wish for any more comfort, bring it yourself!

IF YOU EMAIL ME FOR DIRECTIONS AND I GIVE YOU THEM I AM MARKING YOU AS CONFIRMED

My dorm in Nashville opens on the sixth, so I could just go up there a week early and drive over to Louisville for a par-tay, potentially!

I'll have to work out what to do between then and the sixth, first!

Guys, any excuses about not wanting to drive for 5-6 hours are no longer valid. They are just complete bullshit. They no longer apply.

I am going to come there. I live in Gothenburg. That is in sweden. If you complain about having to spend some hours on a train or in a car, that will make you small-time. You should not be small-time, people.

i... don't know that i'm high profile enough that i have an excuse to attend this.

but if i can find reasonable train (?) fare from ct, and convince my friends/girlfriend that spending new year's with people i've never met isn't a terrible idea, and you'll have me, i am more than up for it.

EDIT: ok nevermind there is no way i can justify the cost of this

but I'm not from IC or TGQ. :emo:

So i ahve to figure out a way to get from Cleveland to Kentucky, and not spend a lot of cash doing it, all to spend my birfday wif a bunch of people I have never met in real life?

SHIT YEAH!

If anyone feels like driving by Cleveland to pick me up, I can throw down for some gas and such. I don't want to ride the grey dogg, but this might just be worth it.

I, too, do not feel I am a higher up dude! I'm not around too much here on the internet boards, but I would love to go.

A Greyhound is my only option though. And it might be worth it. Taking a Greyhound for the first time to go to a place filled with strangers. I'd go for it, really.

It's probably the best option for me as well.

Screw the train since it would require me going to all the way to Chicago and then looping around to Kentucky. That would be one entire day on the road! Ugh! Lousy inefficient American railways.

It's just a good reason to drink and use that day to say you will start the year fresh and blah blah.

I always get a kick out of waking up the next morning and seeing a whole horde of new joggers and wannabe gymrats that quit 2 weeks into the new year.

The gray dog is fucking awesome as long as your not sitting next to someone who's morbidly obese. Then its kind of irritating because it makes you uncomfortable. But I recently went on a six hour (both way) trip using the gray dog and really enjoyed it. On the way up, I sat next to a guy from Bangladesh who had literally just walked out of a US detention center after being stuck there for two years. He practically offered me his next of kin because I offered to let him use my cell phone, which was free at the time. On the way back, I spent two hours next to the largest man on the bus, which was awkward just because I really had no where to put my arms and we didn't strike up any conversations. The next four hours of the trip after he got off was like sex though. I was equipped with a GBA SP and flash cartridge I'd recently put every game I owned and good piece of homebrew I'd ever downloaded on. It was fucking wonderful.

I'd seriously consider going to this even though I don't post that often and really have no right to if it weren't for the fact a GrayHound round ticket would cost over three hundred dollars and the trip would take more than a day.

OK, so it looks like the grey dogg will rock me about 150 for the weekend, which means I should try to save up some scratch to rock this fucker out if I plan on doing it. I assume I can crash on a floor or something, yes, no, maybe? This will probably mean about 300 bucks and i should be good for the weekend. Fucking christmas BS.

Anyhow, I am also thinking I might be able to talk a friend into this, provided he has nothing better going on. He isn't involved with IC or whatever at all, and is probably what most people would call an idiot, but that would only make the trip more memorable.

I have ridden the grey dogg many times to various localities around Ohio mostly, so this would be my first out of state dogging. (well, that I remember clearly. I apparently dogged it down to NC when I was a kid with my mom, but I don't remember that at all).

So yeah. Actually, flying is only like 70 bucks more, so I might just blow my wad on that. Hmmm...decisions.

Its kind of the same only the passengers are generally richer so you never see it coming when they rob you.

The bathrooms and everything else are also much cleaner.

Eh, don't worry about it. The only way he would be coming is if he felt like driving, which he probably won't, and if he did, well, we can sleep in his car. Again, I doubt that he will.
