Oh, I don't think there is any joking here. I've met people like this. I will see many of them at this year's comic convention. It's both really sad and incredibly fascinating at the same time...

He was attacking Nintendo in a disruptive and arrogant manner. His question was meant to be rhetorical.

It's not really a good critique on Nintendo; most of their games are not narrative-based anyway. In fact most games period. What SNK game has made you cry?

It just makes my brain hurt. Most of all, as most would agree it's very SAD.

Well, Squaresoft was pretty much BORN on Nintendo. So couldn't you say without Nintendo there would be no PS or FFVII?

It's not even the chicken or the egg argument ... without Nintendo the gaming world would NOT be what it is today. Thank you Nintendo.

It's funny because he is cos-playing an SNK character.

What the fuck? I fucking hate these people. First, the dude dressed as Tokugawa makes a stupid argument and then some degenerates call him a fag. Great.

I went to a free Puffy Amiyumi concert yesterday with my Japanese friend and some Korean girls and pointed out all the otaku (it wasn't hard with all the Samurai Champloo hats and Naruto shirts and "otaku unite" buttons). My Japanese friend said: "I sink Japanese otaku izu moru dizuguztingu."

"At least they seem to have less self-importance," was my reply.

The Fatal Fury movie made me cry ... sort of. That was an SNK game, right? The Tekken anime actually made me cry even more . . . especially because I spent 50 cents to rent it . . .

I really don't see the point of putting the video online. Clearly it was those that filmed it that posted it, so I guess their biting commentary of "Hur, you're gay! Fag!" makes them feel good. It's shit like this that makes me hate people sometimes. People suck.

I wonder what the Lester Bangs of videogames would say of such a thing?

SquareSoft games make me cry because they're all God awful.

P.S. CRYING IS THE BEST EMOTION EVER! ALL VIDEO GAMES SHOULD LIVE UP TO IT!
P.P.S. FF7 was horrible.

For real? No. But then again, i've never cried, for REALZ, because of a film, book, or piece of music. But I know people who cry while watching the news.

No. But I've been moved in far less simplistic, Hollywood/anime manipulative manners, in ways that I found cathartic, stimulative, relieving, edifying or quite simply rewarding.

Didn't we have the crying conversation before?

ANY game can make you cry if you've been playing it for more than 2 hours straight, got tons of levels/items, then get killed by a SUPER cheap boss and remembering you didn't save.

Yeah. That made my cry.

One of the the guys in the clip says 'Earthbound'. I don't remember if I cried at the end of Earthbound but I was certainly very moved. Mother 3 is meant to be a weepy too. The commercial is just an interview with a girl who just finished it, crying her eyes out!

er, so...

i'm a guy, and am also straight (ZOMG I DON'T HAVE TEH G4YoNE111!!!)

I was a little misty-eyed at the end of Ocarina of Time (yeah, don't laugh).

In one fell swoop, the "only girls cry, you big gay" point goes down in flames.

teh pwnage?
