i might be doing OMEGE in my column next week (not this coming week) but i can't get dan! da! dan! to run on my computer!
when i try to run the game, i get:
"MCI Error
Cannot find the specified file. Make sure the path and filename are correct."
and then the game runs, but no sprites appear, just blocks of color. someone help me? _________________

woo, problem solved! the issue is obvious in retrospect - for some reason my un-lzh program didn't recreate the subfolders in the lzh file. i did it manually, and the game runs fine!
it's pretty good!
so it looks like omega is on for next week! _________________

Awesome. Looking forward to it.
Does my friend Jamphy know you write for GameSetWatch? Jamphy is a nickname, based on an acronym. I know him from my 'Nam days. And by 'Nam, I mean Cheltenam. When we wrote for NTSC-uk, in Britain. I recall there being lots of shrubbery around.
So... What's it like having an inernet stalker? |

I love how you still use this nickname despite there being absolutely no sign of it catching on even after three years.
I just invented a nickname for you to use when you play Xbox Live: SZCZEMANIAK |

Ahh, I see what you did there, switching the P for an M, and create a play on words.
Otherwise...
Well of course Jamphy isn't catching on, it's utterly absurd! it's like a cross between rasberry "jam" and cotton "fluph". When I read the word, I picture those two mixed together. Besides, I only use it (in an ironic and post-modern way) because you used it to self-referance yourself once. But I will be keeping Szczemaniak in mind should I ever sign up to Live. It's catchy.
Otherwise... Welcome to the boards James! I'm (mostly) sure I speak for everyone when I say - "Glad you like The Gamer's Quarter." |
