I think you are thinking of the PS3 controller. _________________ “The average man has a secret desire to be a swaggering, drunken, fighting, raping swashbuckler.”

"Six degrees"? Tilt forwards, backwards, to the left and to the right. The last two would be turning it like a steering wheel to the left and right. With degrees in tilt maybe not being as sensitive as PS2 analog movement, but more N64 levels.
With the sensor strip, the Why should also be able to measure 3D movement forwards, backwards, to the left, to the right, upwards, and downwards. Also how fast each movement would be. Much like motion capturing those little white balls on actors works. With the Wiimote being just one big white ball.
The sensor strip is what makes it a truely 3D controller. Depending on where you hold the controller changes the actual input. Some games this would mean you having to stand while playing, but if there's a Samba de Amigo sequel in the future EVER I won't complain about this. _________________ Collector of over 1,538 strategy guides. Ah, so as far as orientation goes it's just a simple tilt sensor? So you can't like flip the controller over and have that register properly? Pity. |

PS3 is a tilt sensor and simple gyroscope, yes.
However, tilt wouldn't work so well turning it left-right. Unless you use a small digital compass... Even then, a simple knob, like what the JogCon had, would be better. Cheaper and more accurate, especially if the controller is designed to be knocked around and twisted about. _________________ Collector of over 1,538 strategy guides. That's weird, right?
