I don't know where else to post this. This last weekend, I went to the Final Fantasy Fan Festival in Santa Monica, and wrote about it. It's not an article for the magazine, but I there promoting my upcoming piece about FFXI, as well as The Gamer's Quarter in general. I wore my Gamer's Quarter T-Shirt, hand made several nights earlier. I handed out 100 Gamer's Quarter Buttons, too.

i demand to see a photo of this shirt. also i'm glad you were able to get the buttons worked out!
plus i'm pretty sure it's okay to promote your website especially if t is awesome.

That is excellent!
Also, that shirt turned out awesome. I was going to attempt to make a few for staff at E3, but I was not going to worry about that until after this issue is out, but I think I have a few ideas now.

It's like a more modern take on a Renaissance Faire. I would attend out of morbid curiosity. While being a bit of a dork myself, I have very little experience seeing other geeky folk in action. It looks like fun and something worth doing at least once.

That's such a Final Fantasy line, I can't help but chuckle at that response.
It was a good read, I look forward to reading about more events like this. I'm sure your experience at E3 will end up being more fun than the event itself. |

Whaat? FF Fan Festival? Even though I quit FFXI quite a while back, I still would've liked to go (and Persona and I are only 20 or so minutes away, albeit he's not an FF fan).
Awesome read, though. It sounds like it was a lot of fun. The shirts look great. |

so, do the ff folk talk like lobotomy cases in real life or is it some sort of intellectual cosplay for the fans? i could go either way on that. look what doing cartoons all your life did to walt disney!

The FF Folk ... do you mean the developers? They were actually pretty amazing. I mean, these guys weren't talking about plot -- they were talking about the difficulty of balancing an online world, and how each choice they make effects the economy/gameplay in ways they hadn't anticipated.

i just found out that while in california last week, my sister and her boyfriend barged into the festival thinking it was a concert and were turned away by a diminutive black mage.
good thing they didn't get rowdy! he woulda cast fire 3 on them!
after his bar filled up of course.

I wish the people designing those "Don't make me go all Zelda on you!"-shirts would think like you.
That white mage hoodie looks really cool. I'm not really a fan of the FF-series, but I did recognize the sharp red shapes.
Oh, and where can I get the TGQ logo in vector format? I'd like to do... something with it, at some point, I think. Excellent logo by the way, whoever designed it deserves a pat on the back. It's as iconic as the EDGE logo, but in a completely different manner.

I just scanned Issue #4, and then Photoshopped the edges away, changed the color, etc ... and then did one of those print-out iron-ons.
I *hate* commercially produced video-game t-shirts.
My next one is Mario 3 (I need a clean image of racoon mario, flying), with Mario flying near my shoulder, and the clouds scattered at the bottom of the shirt.

YOu should go to Lestarde's website in his sig. The one that starts with A...something. His stuff from Mr. Rogers article is there (and if not, will be by next week). I would recommend asking him first though 
EDIT: Also that logo pops up in a 1up video that also coverd this same event. (look around the 6min and 22min mark)

Know? Well, kinda. That is Jeremy Parish. We talk online occasionally and he will apear in this upcoming issue.
And! I had the exact same problem with getting it to go on my PSP. I was going to leave it on my memory card and take it to random people and go: "CHECK IT OUT! THAT IS MY MAGAZINE!" While they look at me weird and kind of shy away from me.
I had to watch it on my laptop too. I could probably still convert that video using psp9.
