So E3 itself kind of blew, but last week was definitely one of the happiest weeks of my life. I had such a great time hanging out with the TGQ staff and various IC hangers on. Literally EVERYBODY that we hung out with was awesome and I was never so glad to be in such a large group of people. I didn't take photos because my camera's battery died and I kept forgetting to replace them. Thankfully I know everyone else did. So let's post photos and reminisce, make fun, photoshop, caption, etc etc etc!

Yes!

Ok, I srunk all these to 600 pixels width. They are not exactly in order, but I will try to break them into catagories. I have almost 1.5gigs of images/videos from the week, so this is just a taste, I dont' think I will ever have all of them up. Also, many ended up blurry or something

I have arrived!

The TGQ dinner was on Wed night at a Ramen restraunt, and was really great. Other than ThatBox, everyone there was associated with TGQ either through editing or directly writing for the magazine:

Next up is TGQ Game Of The Year for 2012. Not GOOD, not GREAT: Awesome.

Next is the best damn thing on the floor. Not JUST Kung-Fu, but Kung-Fu in space!

So Namco was one of the few people who held out and had booth babes, but most of them were not too attractive. Anyways, all of a sudden I hear over the loud speaker: "And now for a special guest that EVERYONE knows!!!!! Pac-MAN!" And then he was harased by the booth babes:

Yakuza was one of the better games on the floor. It was subtitled in english, but I guess that the rumor is still that it will have dubbing only as an option, which will probably ruin it:

Wes and I got in line fully intending to get SMT: Nocturne signed by Kazuma Kaneko for Persona and also get a lithograph signed by him. He flat out refused to do it. Later from Atlus I was informed that Kaneko wanted to sign things other than the lithograph, but there was about 3X the turnout that was expected, so the Atlus staff made him not.

E3 solidified my absolute idiocy for my love of Sonic. Here is me (looking really bad for some unknown reason) with the Hedgehog himself:

Thatbox, Toups, Aderack, and Heather standing infront of Ulitmate Ghosts'n Goblins. THe game was excellent, and will for sure be a nice attidion to the PSP.

On our way to Kentia Hall (which I had to be shown how to find) I ran ahead and took a picture, I just noticed that PERSONA was jumping! Anyways, not the greatest photo, but it does have Persona mid-jump.

Aparently Dave Hellman is awesome (like we didn't already know this). Tycho of Penny Arcade was about the largest fan of A Lesson is Learned that you could find. Anyways, while waiting in line for the Wii we ran into him and gave out a media kit. I took a photo with Tycho, but it turned out like shit. Hellman on the otherhand:

So, I guess we move on to the personal photos. This was taken at the Game Tap party on Thursday night. I spent quite a bit of it talking to Brandon. Toups cock blocks me on my own photo

Meet Faithless of The Gamer's Quarter interweb fame! I really liked this photo, but I'll be damned if I don't hate my camera for being so terrible now:

One night (well, technically two nights) we ended up in an arcade in Little Tokyo where they had a Guitar Freaks/Drummania Session mode hook up. Toups on drum, Aaron and John on Guitar = rawk:

Later that night we ended up at Aaron's house tiny appartment. I was explained why Vice is hilarious... I never got it though.

After a small mix up I realised that I needed a ride to the airport on Saturday. So I begged Persona and Kinuko (who I never managed to pronounce her name right... either of them) into taking me. We went for Shabu Shabu for lunch and it was damn good.

After that I was dropped off at the airport. This was the last photo I took in LA and it turned out really, really well. I am sad it is over now:

So, now to dump some nice Photos that I took while attemting to locate Matt Kumar:

And then finally the TOUPS image dump:

Fucking Toups, you actually got them to call you a "NEW GAMES JOURNALIST?!" That's a victory in and of itself.

Shaper, please, for the love of god, let me know where/when I can grab all your photos/videos. I am so starved for TGQ love right now, it's not even funny. The Panda (wife) is laughing at me as I browse these images and declare with each new shot, "Goddammit, not fair!" Le sigh.

Well, I don't think ALL of the photos will ever go up (some are really bad) and none of the videos will (aside from the one I posted) because they are just interviews used for audio, so most of the time the camera is staring at a wall. I will keep you updated though.

Alright, here comes some of the pictures I took. I spent more time alone, so there's not as many with my new friends. But here they come, anyway!

Someone familiar playing drums...

That's a full suit of armor from FF12. Holy god, do I wish I could wear that around.

This is the first picture I took at E3. I'm really into Tetsuya Nomura costume designs. I love the assymetry that has become his staple. I wish more clothes were made assymetrical.

More familiar faces...!

The Nintendo Booth during the Day...

...and at night. See how they've added day/night cycles to their booth! You encounter different monsters at night. See what you can find!

There was an incredible case of Pac-man stuff at the Namco booth. I have that lunch box, and think about the cereal ALL THE TIME. Suspiciously absent was the Pac-Man board game, where you had to set out hundreds of marbles ahead of time...

A new Banner?

Good god, was this fun.

We were a rock band.

I wonder if they hire the same Mithra for all their events, or if these girls were new to these costumes. I WANT TO WRITE AN ARTICLE ABOUT GIRLS WHO ARE DRESS AS MITHRA FOR EVENTS!

Finally, I included this because this guy MUST play FFXI. Who else would think it was still appropriate to reference this? Only MMO fans are this out-of-date.

This was, sincerely, one of the best weeks of my life. I can't thank all of you enough for welcoming me into the fold. One-thousand-and-one hugs to everyone.

I hate you all for going.

I hate the Swedes even more though. Damnation

I'll say E3 2005 was better just out of spite.

Thatbox was our official photographer for E3, it seems. Well, MY official photographer, anyway.

Kinuko, post your pictures up too! I want to see them.

I'm afraid most, if not all my pictures turned out pretty terrible. I don't really take photos of people anyways, so most of my photos are just general E3 booth stuff that you can find anywhere.

I want a new camera.

If you mean "terrible" in the same way you refer to drawings in your sketchbook, then this means that the photos are actually really fucking awesome, right?

It's a shame that Toups is the only non-explicitly named person I can identify in these pictures, and then only because of his avatar.

This is definitely an awesome thread to thumb through.

Gives me goalsfor next year. Several in fact! One is to go out for a meetup and 2 is to do enough things until that time to actually have people who would look forward to being met up with by yours truly. And then of course there' the money part.

I look forward to more tales of adventure in SoCal!

David, I was quite shocked at how quiet you were! Next year I expect you to fully just jump in and karate chop us all unconscious! This is not merely an unreasonable demand but YOUR DESTINY.

Also, it was nice to meet you! I'm sorry if it seemed as though I was being mean to you or anything like that; I had some things on my mind. Next year you have to draw me something though!

Of course, he worked harder than all of us too.

He wasn't exactly settled down for the night. He was kind of just taking a nap until everything quieted down. Sort of. And he simply fell asleep.

Has anyone else ever said that Aderack looks a bit like Otacon from MGS? Or at least, looks like what an actor playing Otacon should look like? And I mean that in a nice way.

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun, it's always funny seeing what people in real life look like, compared to how you imagine them in your mind from the internet.

By far, thatbox was more of an appropriate Otacon than Aderack.

Well, maybe Aderack can play the MGS2 Otacon.

The MGS4 one is up for debate though.
