The structure of the title sounded familiar... at first i thought I was thinking of "robot finds kitten" but then I realized I used a similar construction with bug <3 flower.

Is there a more famous game that uses the same naming structure?

Anyway, nice work with the game. I haven't had a chance to try it 2 player yet. I was surprised by the diminished dimensions of the playfield (relative to how old games set it up) but I guess that's to stop the apple from fleeing far far away.

The whole concept of asymmetrically-controlled (i.e. one player keys, the other on mouse) makes sense for the PC. There's also a lot you can do with co-op.

Dess, I made something that kind of had snake heart apple in mind. A bit; it's more kind of based on this one tech demo, but still... when I had to give an element of indirection into the mix, I chose apples 'cause of you.

So here it is, DRAGGIN -- defend your apples and your body from the maurading villagers. (This is kind of meant as a glorious trainwreck but it wasn't done in the KotM 2 hour time frame-- coulda been, mostly, but I let myself get distracted and also throw in more features.)

Err, if it makes you feel any better than I can't say had you in mind when I needed to add an element of indirection to the game.

In fact, I'm a little worried that this game looks less like a dragon fighting villagers than a worm fighting flies.

i'm working on a small game that i hope to get done before school starts and i have no time to work on my own projects. it's not lesbian spider-queens of mars - though while i was sketching sprites for it (it's a mono-color game), i did a few lesbian spider-queen drawings.

james harvey you should know by now i'm always serious.

unfortunately i'm not going to have time to create the game before i start school and all my work goes towards school-related projects. the name came from purplechair, who proposed it for his own game development class. when i heard it, i realized i needed to make that game if he didn't.

i'm just going to get my lcd game finished instead.

I do think those are cool. They put me in mind of the original Dizzy for the ZX Spectrum, or Digitiser on Teletext. That style is quite nostalgically charged for British gamers of a certain age.

the game's almost finished, but it needs sound. crossposted from the insertcredit development forum:

invaders win. a short little blip tune of disappointment.

sound effects should be chippy and / or blippy, the sort of sounds that wouldn't be out of place in the original taito game. and i need them as soon as possible. this is your chance at fame!

your electronic arms. my last game before i pack my bags and ship off to videogame school.

as usual the game began with a doodle sheet on which i sketched lots of concepts for the game's appearance. i ended up doing plenty of drawings for lesbian spider-queens of mars, too. someday i will return to this theme.
