I'm calling it!

Children's Benadryl Perfect Measure look a lot like "nuke" from Robocop 2

I could not find the video of the commercial on Youtube, Google Video, etc. , but I challenge anyone to deny that the connection will be made by many others in the coming days and weeks.

Then the video will be available.

I always found it difficult to understand the nerd hate for hipsters. What's wrong with paying attention to the way you look and being interested in cool things?

That was until I saw these blowjobs.

Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury, by Peter Chung.

Here's also an advert he did for G-Police.

It's Rapper's Delight.

Starting at 4:45 is the part most people remember, if they remember it from when it was sort of current.

"Ever been over to a friend's house to eat, and the food just ain't no good?"

Yeah, that's one of the bits I can't remember, but I want to learn it. Right now I am busy trying to learn Jay-Z's verse from 'Big Pimpin'.

I wonder if some one can help me out with this. I'm right now carrying on a conversation in the youtube comments for 'Cash Cab PWNED' in which I am trying to feign the belief that Cash Cab is not a game show but a true-life documentary about an extremely benevolent taxi driver.

http://uk.youtube.com/comment_servlet?all_comments&v=EgPH20-u14U&fromurl=/watch%3Fv%3DEgPH20-u14U%26feature%3Demail - go to page two and scroll down to right near the bottom.

I started by saying

"How does that cab ever make any money? You'd think he'd wanna hang on to that $2500 after spending so much tricking his cab out with plasma screens and disco lights."

But I've run into a sort of brick wall. What I'd like is for someone to reply to user BearsysRevenge's statement 'It's a game show. It's not a documentary' with a comment that backs up my belief that it is a documentary; not only that, but confirms it and adds some interesting made-up facts about the production of the show. I trust you guys are imaginitive enough for this challenge! The more people replying the better.

Were they British? Because in America Earth First! is a lot more proactive that that video made them to look, and apparently none of the commenters knew anything about Earth First!

That was good but I would have preferred to have heard the rap battle at the same time; perhaps if the translation was shown through subtitles?

Actually, having just watched the actual original clip, that isn't what the second guy is really saying, so I think this is in fact kind of lazy. It's pretty easy to sneer at these guys- much harder to do what they do.

Talented freestyle rappers are awesome, and I don't think this is sneering. There are a lot of common themes that pop up in freestyle battles, and it's amusing that this one broke out into a fight. A lot of the comments on youtube are getting racist though, so what can you do?

This is one of the best animated movies I've ever seen, Ladislas Starewicz's Fetiche (The Mascot) from 1933:
http://www.archive.org/details/The_Mascot_Complete

Wikipedia wrote:
Starewicz had interests in a number of different areas; by 1910 he was director of a museum of natural history in Kaunas. There he made four short live-action documentaries for the museum. For the fifth film, Starewicz wished to record the battle of two stag beetles, but was stymied by the fact that the nocturnal creatures inevitably went to sleep whenever the stage lighting was turned on. Inspired by a viewing of Les allumettes animées [Animated Matches] (1908) by Emile Cohl, Starewicz decided to re-create the fight through stop-motion animation: he removed the legs and mandibles from two beetle carcasses, then re-attached them with wax, creating articulated puppets. The result was the short film Lucanus Cervus (1910), apparently the first animated puppet film with a plot and the natal hour of Polish and Russian animation.

Fetiche stars a small dog doll come to life and trying to get an orange for his maker's child. It also features a pimp doll, a hooker doll, an ape doll, the brutal decapitation of a clown doll, the devil emerging from a bottle of spilled booze, etc. This is wild and hilarious stuff that makes Pixar seem awfully droll.

SouljaBoy reviews Braid:
“They got this game, right, for people who smoke, or people who drink, like if you drink beer and you get drunk, or you smoke weed and you get high … anything, like if you just be getting fucked up. They got this game, right … this shit called Braid. Watch this shit! It about this little guy in a suit, and he walk around. Ain’t even got no point to the game, you just walk around jumping on shit. It look like Mario in the future.”

Awesome infomercial on arcade games from TNT amusements.

Shows lots of great old arcade games, and is actually quite informative. Covers both pinball and video arcade games. Caveman and Space Duel look particularly awesome. Hmm, maybe I should have posted this in the pinball thread.
