I got the box today. Man the post office beat the shit out of these Sega CD cases. Also, you were right, it looks like some kid took a nail or something to them. Oh well! I will test them out later.

Thanks again!

Yes, I tried to make up for the quality with quantity.

It looks like parcel is faster than media, so everyone else I'm trading with should have their things soon.

Dessgeega and sawtooth, your packages have arrived. Thanks.

I thought that my handwriting would reveal me as the gradeschooler eager to show off his ability to print that I am.

I expected a package addressed to Wes Ehrlichman and instead I got one addressed to Westopher Ehrlichman. Very cute!

i received a box from parcel post today! initially i thought it was my copy of issue 4 and trade with wes, supposedly shipped weeks ago, but closer inspection revealed it to be my trade with wourme.

wourme is an awesome person, by the way. in addition the the agreed-upon games, he included a copy of williams arcade's greatest hits and some manner of mahjonng game!

it's almost like a have a real genesis library now.

Wes, I apologize, but your Megaman didn't go out until today. I arrived at the Post Office late yesterday, only to find that I had brought the case, but no game. And a rude suprise that would have been! So it's on its way to you now.

I have to express how impressed I am with the whole trading thread concept. EB and Gamestop give a pittance for trade ins, and most of the time I need to really shop around to find what I want. From now on I'll be bringing my trade ins here.

Got Dess' package. Thanks! I'll probably lose this copy of SotN too! Just wait!

I'll probably post some more stuff up for trade later as I finish it. This trading thing does indeed rock.

Also, the Postal Service works in funny ways... things seem to go between NY and CA a lot more quickly then they do between CA and closer states. Must have to do with population?

nope! while super cds are region-free, hucards are not! you can use a "diving board" converter to play pc-engine hu-cards on a turbographx-16, but not the other way around.

also i would like to take this space to to relate that i am playing the "bonus" games wourme sent me more than the games i actually traded for (the latter being toejam & earl and its sequel).

while i have never been capable of playing three of the five games on williams arcade's greatest hits (defender, defender II, and sinistar), joust and robotron are sufficiently wonderful that they make up for it. (though robotron would probably be unplayable if i didn't have a six-button controller.) the credits screen indicates that all of the arcade translations except joust were done by the same person. this made me desperately want someone to produce a documentary called "joust in translation".

the other thing he sent was shanghai II: dragon's eye. while i can't figure out how to play the sub-titular game (which is played against the computer), it plays a fairly decent game of solitaire mah-jong. i've started playing with the "pairs" tile set, which is themed around objects that come in pairs, like ketchup and mustard, and salt and pepper. the flowers have been replaced by pears. it is very cute.

Hmm! Any chance I could convince you to trade Ico for my Guardian Heroes Advance? It's mint, by the way. If that matters.

I'd go for Parappa, but my wife would simultaneously love it and want throw it out the window in frustration.

OK! TAKE IT!

Dragon Warrior 7. Case, Instrucions, both CDs all in good shape. Only trading (or selling, which I would honestly prefer) with the Walkthough. Which is very important to anyone who does not play RPGS all in one sitting. It also has a full bestiary (which is honestly a very important thing to have if you don't want to waste time).

I have been holding onto this game now telling myself "I am going to play it one day!" even though I know I never will. I got to the 32 hour point and just never found the joy that the first couple hours lived up to.

"you will have a hard time finding this in this condition in the future if you ever want to play it" SHUT UP INNER VOICES! GAHHH! I will never play it again.

Also, I've (about a week ago, to be exact) recieved both packages from Zach and Seryogin. You guys are my heroes for the rest of the month, thanks a lot!

Probably cash is best. I can't really think of anything I want or have looking for that is a reasonable trade. Umm, hit me with a PM if curious about what I am thinking.

Lackey: Skies of Arcadia arrived the other day. Everything looks good. Thanks!

Have you received Ecco yet?

Seryogin: How about those books? They've come by now, I hope...?

Well, I have some more things up for trade now.

GBA
Rebelstar: Tactical Command (including box, instructions, etc.)

PS2
Metal Gear Solid 3 (excellent shape!)

PS1
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment (in excellent shape, but I'll probably never play it.)
Fear Effect (also in very good shape.)

Stuff I'm still trying to get rid of:

Dreamcast
Sonic Adventure
Dead or Alive 2
Soul Calibur (very slightly scratched disc, but it works fine.)

SNES
Cybernator (an excellent Konami action game, but I have an extra copy. The cartridge itself is in very good condition, but I have no box for it. I do have a manual, however, although it is in pretty poor shape.)

... and I'm Looking For:
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
Boktai
Silent Hill (I have no idea what happened to my copy when I moved out of San Francisco.)
Tomba!
Einhänder
Final Fantasy VIII
Pretty much anything good for the GBA.
Also,
Earthbound. With the once-included guide would be nice.

I have Circle of the Moon, antitype. Maybe you have something non-game that you'd like to trade

And yeah your books have arrived and they are very good. Thanks.

I'm not sure that I have any more non-videogame items that you'd be interested in, Seryogin (Sergei, right? Call me Brian if you'd like). Maybe just cash...? Do you have the box or manual? I'll look through my books and such to see if there's anything else I can offer you.

Huh. Sorry, Lackey. Should be there soon! I think I sent it out a day or two after you sent yours, too, so that should account for any gap. Let me know when it comes, though, eh?

I just figured I would try here. I still have Ikaruga for the DC.

BD isn't that good, to be honest, so don't fret about missing it unless it was a very good price (don't know what it goes for on ebay, but the shops still wanted what I paid last I checked, which is too damn much). Me and my mates got much more fun out of Zero Gunner 2, which I picked up for pittance in a second hand shop back in the day.

friedchicken, your ico is finally shipped! sorry it took so long.

please don't meditate too much on the fact that in the time it took me to mail your game i was able to clear story mode and unlock every character in the game you sent me.

anyway, on its way!

Both? As an avid non-finisher of games (at least not to completion), I envy your determination.

So do you like AGH? I've been curious.

No problem with Ico, I wouldn't have been around to enjoy it!

you could check out the "In 19XX..." thread for frivolous up-to-the-minute coverage of my AGH exploits.

i happen to love it. now that i've unlocked all the characters i mostly play training rounds with four random characters. i am getting pretty decent with most of the characters, though the roper remains the only character i havn't cleared time attack with. and though i find endless mode and the five extra versus stages enticing, i'm probably not going to attempt story mode again anytime soon.

it probably helped my experience of the game that i never played the original guardian heroes before it. i bought it the other day, though, and it is currently in transit.

Has everyone gotten my stuff (except for dess)? I've gotten everything! Thanks a lot guys, it sure beats trade-ins! Next time you go into GameStop and they harass you about trading stuff in tell them that you trade all of your stuff with your friends and that you'll trade your games in as soon as they start offering equal trades.

Someone should go into Gamestop with some of them most valuable games on the Saturn, SNES, and Genesis. Bring in a copy of Radiant Silvergun, a copy of Tengen Tetris, and a copy of the SNES Ogre Battle and try to trade them in. They don't accept games from past generations, so it would be funny to see the employees turn the trade-ins down.

You could even write a Gamer's Quarter story about it!

Gamestop employees would give you cash out of their pockets if you came in with those. They're all savvy enough to know what's up.

Are you sure? I had to explain the concept of a 'PC Engine' to my former co-workers. I think Radiant Silvergun would most likely inspire a round of Saturn bashing as was fashionable with the kids back in 1997.

I have Megaman: Maverick Hunter X (US ver) up for trade if someone's got something nice and juicy to offer. Or not so juicy even. I'm not too picky.

Are you sure? I had to explain the concept of a 'PC Engine' to my former co-workers. I think Radiant Silvergun would most likely inspire a round of Saturn bashing as was fashionable with the kids back in 1997.
I'm pretty sure. I never went in there with a saturn game that ended up on the shelf, I can tell you that.

I want it!

I've got the following stuff for trade:

Street Fighter II (SNES - Cart only)
Uniracers (SNES - Cart only)
Pilotwings (SNES - Cart only)
Metal Gear Solid (PS - Greatest Hits)
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (JP - GBA)
Castlevania: White Night Concerto (JP - GBA - Cart and instructions only)
Shining Force III: Episode 1 (JP - Saturn)
Dragon Force (JP - Saturn)
Super Mario Sunshine (JP - Gamecube)
Starfox Adventures (JP - Gamecube)
Game Boy Player Disc (JP - Gamecube)
Katamari Damacy (JP - PS2)
Final Fantasy X-2 (JP - PS2)
Unlimited Saga (JP - PS2)
Xenosaga Episode 1 (JP - PS2)
Rakugaki Oukoku (JP - PS2)

I can also do GameCube mods if you (or anyone else) want that. Or I can do Paypal. I'd send you $20 for Maverick Hunter X. Or if there's something else you want I could maybe do that too!

-Wes

Gamestop employees would give you cash out of their pockets if you came in with those. They're all savvy enough to know what's up.

I know one manager who turned down some ignorant guy's Chrono Trigger and some other SNES rpg stuff even though he knew what was up. Rare case of conscious I guess?
