apparently you haven't had enough DMT to see the truth, like these guys:

http://www.rahabisreturning.com/anuk.htm
Code:
The only way to defend yourself against evil and even aliens other than by prayer is with orgone made right. Orgone that's made right will suffocate evil and they can't breathe being around it, so they'll stay away from the area with it in it.  See  http://www.tearingdownstrongholds.com or buy some orgone blasters now and keep them out of your house and yard. They're called tower busters because they're mostly used for nulling the weapon attacks and subliminal messages from towers, but I'm finding these things also serve as an evil-repellant and will keep aliens and demons out of your house and yard. If you're a believer in Yahshuah-Jesus Christ, they're already in your yard or house if you're rebuking them. These ob's will keep them out to begin with.

BURROUGHS COMES ALIVE!

edit: shapes, i've read bits of that (someone posted it to another forum i read) and i have to say i find his reasoning suspicious at best. the comparison to the bunds is really shaky for a number of reasons.

Well, I'm just going off his interview. I can't vouch for the book itself.

i'm not even done yet. i think one of them is an objectivist!

"Even if I agreed with you, I couldn't because you don't actually stand for an ideal."

the ideal is that the drug war is morally bankrupt, ruining this fucking country and funding terrorism, you fucking retard.

i was much nicer on the blog.

edit: he's not an objectivist, he's just some kid. (i hope)

god this is almost as bad as that infoshop thread a while back.

Ok, I read that a little when you first posted it, but then when you said you were posting I went and read a little more (I still didn't find anything you posted) and then.... god damn. That is some really ignorant shit on there.

You should see the nutters on Samizdata. Bunch of British untelligentsia scratching their balls and passing their right-wing wank as objectivist libertarianism.

nah, samizdata actually has commentors who can read sometimes.

i read a really good essay on there a few years back.

these guys are pure freepers material. as usual there's a nugget of truth buried in the trash - i.e. what to do about the irresponsible behaviors of others and the costs they impose - but it's deep fried in keerazy. of course, it's also my fault for talking about the war on some drugs as another kind of irresponsible behavior, but i can't help it.

When they're not smugly self-satisfied or trying to be tragically hip.

There's still a reason I read the blog, but I'd rather avoid the comments section altogether.

i tend to use freerepublic and democratic underground as my baselines of horrible commentors. though you get badness on any blog (gothamist.com has some of the most mean-spirited) these two are consistently unreadable and hyperirrational. an unreality mindblender of titantic proportions. infoshop is pretty bad too (sadly, anything attached to any kind of indie media, or even indymedia, tends to attract a lot of tards).

I saw Balko's post on the original article, had a chuckle, read the article, had a lot of chuckles, read the H&R comments, had another chuckle, then read the RWN comments and just shook my little head.

I don't even care that those people can't wrap their heads around basics of philosophy or economics. The original article is just silly. Ain't a single argument that isn't a tautology, a non sequitur, or based on misread/poor data. It's amazing that it's drawn so much attention. I thought everyone knew to laugh and move on when they read something so bad.

self-hate, i guess. a hope that a few words correctly placed - not argued - might make a difference at some point and time.

i mean, i got "rose" to stop using appeals to authority for the most part without any direct bile on my part. that's something.

oh man she's getting awesome again:

Quote:

Clarification - it is suicidal of a community to approve the use of recreational, mind-altering drugs.

That is why even the iberals closed Needle Park, albeit decades after everyone else could see the exp eriment for the failure thay all knew it would be - still, itis amazing that a Liberal program was actually closed because the LIBERALS finally were forced to concede total defeat in the blatant and abject failure of Needle Park to "prove the harmlessness" of legalization to the community.

A community that doesn't protect the posterity won't have any future. THAT is suicidal of a community to willfully extinguish itself - and many communites have killed themselves off with a wide vriety of excesses - these drugs are certainly one of them.

You got Needle Park and you got the old Rhesis Monkey experiments. You got no credibility.

Otherwise, you guys would be going off somewhere to set up your own nation full of nothing but people who agree with you - but you are smart enough to realize there would be no one to man the bread lines, the free clinics for medical needs like STDs, or pass out blankets and grocery carts and free cigarettes to you. No one to be police to protect you from being raped while you are stoned. etc etc et al.

unrelated hilarity: my wife might be picking up judith butler for a conference this friday because she won't ride in cars with men, and the car service fordham uses doesn't have any female drivers on hand for that day.

in one sense that's awesome.

on the other hand, it's one of the most pathetic things i've ever heard.

In Milwaukee one year, for opening day they gave everyone who came a baseball at the ticket gate. Now baseball is a pretty big thing in Milwaukee, and along with it comes the tradition of tailgating (or sitting the parking lot cooking sausages out of the back of your car and drinking) but no more than on opening day. So you have a stadium full of already drunk fans holding baseballs.

They had these kids singing the National Anthem, but they weren't very good or were taking too long and some of the fans got pissed and started throwing their baseballs on the field. Soon the field was covered in baseballs as everyone joined in and the kids had to be escorted off the field.

That was the last time they gave out baseballs before a game.

Quote:
“When you think of a president, you think of an American,” said Mr. Lanier, a 58-year-old barber who is still considering whether to support Mr. Obama. “We’ve been taught that a president should come from right here, born, raised, bred, fed in America. To go outside and bring somebody in from another nationality, now that doesn’t feel right to some people.”

story here

i don't really care which statist pigfucker the democrats eventually (so long as its not hillary) pick to continue the defilement of the constitution, but the above quote struck me as very funny (probably for inappropriate reasons). hilllary's shit is running on overdrive in this particular case, as is to be expected. she's got megabucks.

Barak Obama is on my campus, uh. . . right now!

I should probably go see a little bit of it.

I think it would be hilarious to see Hillary nominated. It would be the nastiest campaign ever. All the ignorant bullshit she's ever said vs. all the ignorant bullshit Bush and his loyal party have ever said, never mind who the Republicans actually spit out.

On one hand, I want to send this to all my friends/co-workers who have completely bought into the various 9/11 conspiracy theories. On the other hand, I don't really want to argue with people who bought into those theories in the first place.

Speaking of conspiracy theories, do you remember that movie "Who Killed the Electric Car?"

I know who.

(no one knows about this yet if you don't find it funny. lord knows I do)

isn't that just another way of saying "coin operated" ?

or does it mean player two can start while player one is playing?

Yeah (second thing). I suppose back in 1987 this was more of a thing? Arcade games that let your pour money like that were probably less common back then. It's a feature to people who buy cabs, at any rate.

i just started migrating all of our quark projects over to in design cs2. i think this may be the rock, though i need to keep quark to be able to print to the large format (adobe doesn't like the epson software rips at all, for reasons i can't devote 20 hours to figuring out and troubleshooting.)

i do wish adobe had a random color function though.

though i am currently seeking new vistas of servitude, there is something to be said for a job that offers me the chance to play with expensive toys and listen to venetian snares all by my lonesome most of the day.

There is no instruction manual for those who want to remove their own limbs, but I always knew I would do it. I had eventually, told my husband that one day I would lose my legs. It took many years for him to understand why, but he did realise it was part of me, and I suppose he accepted it.

We once had a fight at the club that started because one guy denied another guy’s friend request on MySpace. According to Italian witnesses, one Guido walked right up to the other Guido, demanded to know why his friend request was denied, then punched the poor fellow in the face. Rumor had it, in fact, that the spurned MySpacer had actually come to the club that night for the sole purpose of finding this guy and giving him a piece of his mind.

There was a postsecret about this a few weeks ago where someone wrote that they needed to get help for their amputation fetish (I know the story isn't a fetish, but close enough) before they do something drastic.

in between reading stuff for school and searching mediabistro, i've been reading novels again. it's strange to flip back and forth, almost annoying and soothing at the same time. i'm rereading tropic of cancer and then i'll read house of leaves, which was an xmas gift.
