Tim of Fighters is upon us.
I signed up TGQ as a team over at IC
I would like to see some other people volunteer
Like Dhex

Don't make me hurt people over this.

I'm in!

I've got a split persona and I'll be battling myself over at DPS!
So yeah, throw me in a team or something.

Yay for fictional battles!

I thought we already did Tim of Fighters 2K5. Is this some sort of side story? A gaiden? Dream Match? I am confused.

I think we actually didn't do 2k5 yet.
I'm pretty sure, anyway. There was talk about it but it never happened or something.

In any case, even if there were, just think of this as the Summer Tourney then.

LET'S START MAKING SOME TEAMS!!
There's probably an "official" GQ team where Shaper and Superwes would have to belong in, since they're running the show and all. Maybe throw Dhex in there too.

I want to start the "INTERACTIVE VISUAL MEDIA" Team.
Then I'll persuade Lestrade to join and anyone else who can draw and wants to participate in some ToF nonsense!

NOW MAKE YOUR OWN TEAMS AND REPRESENT TGQ!!

(In reality, probably nothing much will happen from this. Maybe some smarmy discussion, maybe some 'shopped images. It's alli in the name of good fun or something.)

http://tof.secretpirate.com/

It was just another hokey in-joke thing we did back when hundreds of people didn't post on the forums. 108 was supposedly "missing" in Japan at one point, so search parties were sent out. Rather than disbanding the search parties after he was "found" we simply formed teams and had battle royales. It's sort of been a regular thing ever since.

Honestly I have no idea. It just seemed like a lot of fun last time. I'm not sure how - or if - a winner is decided. It seems like something that's more about the journey.

When it first started off, it was a team-based forum war. There was one thread devoted to it and we all made our own profiles and pictures for the fight. Then we would flame each other and our rivals in the thread, somehow along the way making a non-coherent storyline.

Then everyone grew tired of it and it died.

THAT'S TOF!!

Someone feel free to write me in. The avatar that Persona made for me should provide a good enough start.

now all you need is a humorously-named fighting style to go with that picture.

that shouldn't be too hard.

Watch out, fellas!
It's KILLER SHAPER!!

Also:
Toups, your fighting style is the ancient art of:
"FIST OF WOMEN'S PLEASURE" (pronounced like "brassiere")
Wow, that could totally be taken another way.

So like, TGQ is a team. And we all make fighter style characters and profiles based on photos. Then duke it out forum style seeing what happens. Plus add into this a massive amount of random potential happenings. Hmm... interesting.

I'm lazy, but it might be fun. I think, I'm still not a 100% certain of what's happening here. Might as well go with my Persona-Sama created avatar, it has a nice arty style to it. I can provide a larger version if needs be.

EDIT:
Damn, Mr Sama, you are like some kind of non-stopping avatar-making MACHINE. Everywhere I go I see your work. Excellent stuff.

that squirrel is the pope, though. a very conservative squirrel.

For the record, I really like Wes's dhex picture. Somehow the whole Zangief edit with the squirrel works together in a way that makes me laugh whenever I see it.

I'm also going on a avatar making binge*.
I will not stop until I see my art everywhere on the ic forum.
THEN IT SHALL BE MINE!

If you can make it through everyone that did an article for this issue we might be able to use them for the staff page of the mag.

You know, I just realized that this is a lot of work for just a silly vanity thing. I'd actually rather you just did the comic and drew for a few articles. Ignore this request!

OR! If we were to take it back the other way, as some band once said, we could go in the total opposite direction, and have part of the TGQ registration process, where it FORCES the great Persona-Sama to make an avatar for that person.

(note: the above idea may require kidnapping, and possible anime/narcotics related coercion)

TGQ TEAMS::
Team TGQ: SuperWes, dhex, ShaperMC
Team???: Persona-sama, dessgeega, Szcepaniak, fried chicken, Mister Toups

Hey guys. You're one man short of three teams. Did I not see someone, or were they confused, etc. Hidden characters and (mini)boss positions still open. although I was hoping to save them for last-minute applicants...

Are we "The Gamer's Quarter" or should we come up with something more creative? And what are our special moves? I think that shaper should be a magician who can pull giant flaming arcade tokens from behind his ears and throw them at enemies.
