Just came here myself as well. I've enjoyed every issue since the first. It certainly has brought me to a new level of awareness in many different subjects. I love all kinds of games. There is just to many to name, but my love all started back on the NES, and evolved through the times much like everyone else. I am a sucker for Resident Evil, and probably always will be.

That's about it. Glad to be here.

As a matter of fact, I do enjoy the game. I am addicted to ARMJOE at the moment though. I named my Beta Fish "Mr.Rumblefish". So I do like the game, but the name just sounds so uber cool to me.

Ran across the quarter while browsing videogame studies stuff, purchased what was available on the spot - great to see it's published in the real world, I love supporting that kind of thing. Had a look at this forum and it seemed to be populated by a nice bunch talking about interesting topics so thought I'd stick around for a while.

Well, I'm on insertcredit as Apollyon and I've been reading the Gamer's Quarter so I decided to drop by here. The community is smaller and the discussion more intelligent. I'm more comfortable in this sort of setting.

Did anyone ever notice I never posted on the intro thread on insert credit?

I always thought that was terribly rebellious of me. I mean, I have a pretty deep background that I'm not sharing! You all must think I'm quite enigmatic???

and handsome.

sup dark steve, sawtooth and dess.

is this place very nice? I think I should like to spend some more time here.

Good Title! I do have secrets... Though, only mildly interesting ones that I'll keep for now.

The other day, I learned there's a video of me talking to Nubuo Uematsu on IGN and I'm totally not kidding.

I like to think about games more than I enjoy playing them. :/

Maybe one day they will make a game as much fun as thinking. Then I'll be out of options.

haha! another reason i'm here is that i found your 1up-dot-com blog, which, after myriad links, ended here. though i don't really visit 1up much anymore, being on dialup and all.

also, i kind of enjoy how that sentence of mine sounds like the first step of twelve in admitting some sort of addiction. which, really, it is.

ha! i don't visit 1up anymore either, though that's because all of its "community" features are pretty shoddily thrown together just to keep people clicking through their site. and the rest of their site really isn't worth clicking through!

Wow. I'm almost 40 posts in and I haven't introduced myself yet.

I'm Rex III. I've been playing games for almost 15 years of my life (I turn 17 in two months), I'm a student filmmaker, and I write about gaming and Snakes on a Plane for my school's newspaper (they don't let me write serious articles anymore because the last time I did I almost got lynched by our school's student council, was accused of being insensitive towards children in Third World countries, and a bunch of freshmen and my friend Bryce tried to turn me into some kind of revolutionary). I found this site through Insert Credit a few months ago.

I think I'm a MySpace addict as well.

So lets go to Game Lair then, shall we?
Secret of Mana Review from Game Lair wrote:

Don’t!

I don't really know what to say to this. We have gotten a few comments about editing errors or omisions, but this paragraph (yes, it is a paragraph. I think it is the second paragraph, but your formatting makes no sense) is terrible on about a dozen different levels.

Also, if you post on here again promoting your poor site (style over substance is not a good combination) you will be banned.

the preview of the revolution is even better.

like, it's actually great, unless it's not tongue-in-cheek, in which case it is horrifying.

That was really good. If it's a serious article though, then something is seriously wrong.

The Zelda: Twilight Princess preview though... not so good...

OK I'm the webmaster of game lair, maybe our content isn't up to scratch, but we didn't expect a bunch a nerds to study through every word.

This forum looks like a 85 year old pensioner missed the toilet seat and shite all over the screen.

I'm sorry, did we come to your forums and SPAM our website? Also there is a difference between "nerds" studying through every word, and A RATIONAL HUMAN BEING noticing that I'd (as in a conjunction between "I" and "would") was spelled id. I mean, at least use spell check.

What makes you free from being criticized? Why did you even come here? You have contributed nothing to this site and yet you feel that we should listen to you for some reason. Good job making fun of our forums. You are so big and strong, go you.

Cool - Did i know Ross was advertising game lair? no i didn't, i saw this site bringing traffic to game lair so i checked it out.

Here i am reading this bullshit about game lairs content, i am not the best at English writing and i admit it, i concentrate on design (were obviously the opposite)

i brought u two posts, and a member, u might rank higher in Google for extra content.

Gotta go work out now, to maintain my 'big strong man appearance'

Jiminy Christmas.

I'm perplexed by people who write things and then say "Well, I didn't expect people to actually look at what we're writing". Why'd you write it in the first place then? Seems like a better metaphor for explosive diarrhea to me.

given that most of his writing looks like this:

Quote:
Nothing much to say really about the sound, I can't remember the sound all that well, and that usually boils down to 'it wasn't that amazing' the characters voices are good, and they speak alot so if your not into reading turns like me, this is good, but no real memories of the sound.

If you liked Zelda – killer Instinct and ff7, then tales is just that all in one, trust me, the fighting is great! the game play is spot on, and you even get a Vehicle to move around the world in just like final fantasy 7, if you have a Nintendo Gamecube, and your lacking in RPGS get this today trust me, you won't regret it!

I still haven’t completed it, I must get around to it one of these days ( reminder to self )

Rated is clearly being especially lucid for us. thank you, Rated.

so you're not into the reading much, eh? how about that.

I will admit that the best thing about the site is the layout. So good job on that Rated. You should work for a place that has better content, it is a shame that while the layout is good the reader return rate will be low.

because we must be heard.

\there's this silver mt. zion song called "hang on to each other" - a nice acapella + organ piece in the vein of this new weird america musical zeitgeist.

it's the lovey dovey comedown soundtrack to parts of your life where you're coming back from some sort of peak experience and just want to take one more frame of trust before you step back into the 8mm clusterfuck that is real life. yeah, you just wanna hug the world; nothing but lovelovelove ripping through your brain; 30 seconds after that time you came and thought you'd died; yeah, man, sometimes it's ok to cry about every little bit of you that's pitysick.

then you see internet strife, and you wonder "why?"

but not:
- "why are people so hateful?"
- "why can we not get along?"
- "how can we live with such pointless strife and misery?"

or even:
- "why do people form vaguely tribal associations with certain brands, and then pursue altercations with other branded tribes?"
- "how much of this is caused by online shills?"
- "can the next frontier of stealth marketing and r+d really be so fucking boring?"

rather you wonder about those times where you trusted the world, where you forgave unconditionally, where you could love without borders. and you realize something about this is just not quite right.

we have lost our inner monologue.

we have cast it out into the world and now neither god nor margaret is available to take our call.

in a supermarket on henry st. i watched a woman look over three brands of canned beats before picking up her phone. she asked the person on the other end questions about beats. this turned into a continuation of an argument about something or other. and we all got to hear it because no one wants to keep that inside voice inside any more.

shine the spotlight on me. on me!

and every time that light goes dark we lash out again, just for a brief, bright spot. we don't just get "does not play well with others" tattooed on our permanent record, because we simply do not play at all.

and why should we? isn't everyone a superstar? aren't our pains worth cooing over?

we spend our days grooming them in preparation for a wake that never begins.

isn't exceptionalism dead, buried in the waste of a thousand voices crying blood libels against the masculine, the aggressive, the creative, the insane? of course we are still monkeys, dressed in ridiculous rags, and no one can deny the ape inside; but the drive to posess, to own oneself and one's surroundings, is shunted into the imaginary.

and so we hallucinate the internet.

OK I'm the webmaster of game lair, maybe our content isn't up to scratch, but we didn't expect a bunch a nerds to study through every word.

Well, Mr. Rated, I must say that the design for your site is pretty good but seriously, if you didn't expect a bunch of nerds to go through every word why even write anything? What you wrote is basically like a chef saying something along the lines of "It's okay to not cook the hamburger all the way through, I don't expect anyone to eat the whole thing anyway".

What's the point of having content when you know it's bad and you don't expect people to read through the stuff?
