Cross-posted from my blog. I thought you guys might be interested in this, since I remember you talking about that 'Maze' book on here a while back.

"No-one picked up on this, or they didn't mention it to me if they did, but I encoded a secret message over all 100 of the [Pirate] illustrations [I was commissioned to do last year]- a cipher in the style of Kit William's 'Masquerade' or Christopher Manson's 'Maze'. It's a message to a member of my family, who (to my knowledge) never solved the puzzle. It's quite a simple puzzle and is clearly signposted and flagged, so I'm sure you lot should have no problem figuring it out. If no-one's worked it out in a week or so I'll post the solution.

There's actually one girl who is playing it and trying to figure it out, in fact, so I'm not going to ruin it for her. She's doing pretty well, in fact you could say she's PUTTING YOU GUYS TO SHAME

Okay this is all I can reasonably come up with:

Also, your drawings are nothing short of superb. If I received a dollar for every time I gasped in childlike wonder, I wouldn't be able to count the total because I would be dizzy from hyperventilation.

That's it! Except the middle word is corrupt, obviously, which means there is possibly a fault with my puzzle. I will check it out.

EDIT: You've made a mistake. Check your workings. And, uh, it might help to have another look at the filenames.
