I remember McDonalds did a Grand Poobah Meal when The Flintstones live action movie came out like ten zillion years ago and I remember it being utterly delicious and yet not what was in it.

Also the nutritional irony of that Chiko Roll + fresh tomato picture is hilarious to me.

I am having Dominos. That Australian pizza, the one with the egg on it I think it is. Two maybe, I have a voucher for a delivery. Even though there is a Pizza Hut, like, three minutes away. But I don't eat there anymore, since Dominos fought for my affections with their stockman's pizza which they had out years ago. But that went and I was sad but only for a week when I tried their other pizzas. And I haven't eaten at Pizza Hut since.

The end.

I eat at either PIZZA HUT or AUSTRALIAN PIZZA HOUSE.

I have yet to try Dominoes.

Oh man I would totally hit up some sort of TGQ BBQ if we weren't all over the place.

I used to work at a little family-owned pizza store run by a grumpy old Italian man and it was totally actually really, really nice pizza and now I cringe whenever I have to eat Dominos but I scarf it down anyway because grease is delicious to me.

maybe we can all hook up at some game con and have a bbq after I DON'T KNOW. i should get my magazine to pay for the trip (yeah right).

Speaking of Milo, I have this game called MILO: THE FUEL RUN which you only got by winning a competition. Probably pretty rare, especially since it was just for us Aussies.

I probably still have my MILO: The Fuel Run disc. I do still have my MILO: The Fuel Run disc, it is on the shelf next to me, I am looking at it right now! But I drew penises all over it in white-out so it probably doesn't work just like pre-penis drawings when it spat an error at me which is why I drew penises all over it. Totally furious drawings of penises.

P.S. Do Australians have jobs on most Tuesdays? You three have spent an awful lot of time geeking out about fast food. I want to spend my time that way.

Ah, so that explains the pie floaters in Fallout Tactics. Micro Forte is an Australian company.

Oh God I miss Tim Hortons : (
I'm playing the new Phoenix Wright and in one of the cases the judge is Canadian and makes reference to a double-double and I was like ARGH WHY DO I LIVE IN THIS COUNTRY
("This country" being the USA)

HEY GUYS POUTINE
AND UH
KETCHUP POTATO CHIPS
AND SHREDDIES
AND KRAFT DINNER I GUESS BUT THAT'S JUST A NAMING DIFFERENCE

I would post pictures but I'm too lazy to upload them anywhere.

Kinder Surprise eggs are illegal here. I can buy them at my local Russian deli but they're old and stale and gross because they were smuggled from Russia and the toys all suck now, they're just fucking statues that you don't even put together.

Also we totally get Weetabix in Canada and I miss it as well. Everything in this country is made out of corn. EVERYTHING. Sugar is made out of corn here for Christ's sake.

dude it was like nine at night.

APM

POUTINE IS QUITE POSSIBLE THE MOST DELICIOUS MEAL YOU CAN HEAVE THAT INVOLVES CHIPS AND GRAVY, like seriously i had it all the time when I was in canada, and I make it for myself here. I should seriously open up a fish and chip shop and serve it because i'd make MILLIONS

i don't know the other oens you mentioned but how about BEAVER TALES I used ot have them in winter in canada, they set up a stall and sold them on the canal that freezes over and you can skate on it, anyway it was a delicious dessert. apparently there IS a place that sells them in australia, just not in my city.

FATE, WHY DO YOU HATE ME.

also, MILO:THE FUEL RUN is the coolest game i got with anything since its promotional and australian only (there are very few aussie exclusive games!) but food products/fast food give away free games all the time here, i got V-RALLY, DRIVER, PAC MAN WORLD and THE SIMS 2, all with food.

I specifically remember you could get Age Of Empires with cereal. I didn't, I got mine off of a PCPowerplay coverdisc. It's how I got Unreal and Command and Conquer too. Cycle, I think your magazine gave that one away twice! [sad]I was not lucky enough to get one of the select eleven issues to get Farcry though, when that offer was going on.[/sad]

Yeah, I got V-RALLY instead of AoE with cereal.

C&C is actually on this months coverdisk, too!

We're not as cool as those german magazines though, that had games like planescape:torment and shit in their coverdisks, how the hell do they do that, seriously

This is true. The odd thing is that if you take Starbucks coffee beans and grind them yourself and brew it, it's actually decent coffee. I have no clue why it's so awful in stores. That said, I read an article once where an "investigator" went into like 20 different coffee shops and tested the caffeine amounts for each and starbucks had the highest by quite a bit. This is obviously to get people addicted to starbucks so they can't get rid of their headaches anywhere else. Obviously.

so how far and wide do voortman cookies range? i guess i always figured they were dutch, but they're actually based in ontario so maybe it's mostly an eastern canada thing. anyway, cheap and fairly tasty and actually kind of ubiquitous around here, now that i think about it.

incidentally i totally had no idea that these guys were a quebec thing.

In the Bay Area, the choice places for fast food are taco trucks/taquerias* and places that sell Vietnamese sandwiches. When it comes to price and getting something decent, you can't do any better.

Although there is a fried chicken and waffles place down in Oakland that is like getting sucked off by God.

* - My being sick for the last two months has put me off of Mexican food pretty much entirely and I honestly can't communicate how depressed this makes me.**

Yeah, there used to be better options for Chicken and Waffles, I remember there was a Roscoe's franchise over by Macarthur that was excellent. Then again, there used to be an all-night diner on Broadway called JJ's that was staffed entirely by meth-addicted transsexuals.

Now your only options for diner food are Denny's -- Eric-Jon has been to the mood-lit one that's right by my house and rumor has it that the one in Emeryville is where the pimps take their ladies after a hard night's work -- I haven't been there since a friend was mugged inside the restaurant itself.

Oh man I am gonna eat a McRib like tomorrow.

I hope the White Castle opens back up soon. They rebuilt it this summer and are finishing it up now.

Corndogs are really common in Ohio.

Shaper, at least around here, all the Starbucks actually make their coffee at way too high temperatures, causing it to burn, causing it to taste like shit. Most people simply can't burn coffee on home coffee makers as they don't get that hot, so that might be why starbucks beans make good coffee, just not at startbucks.

For 24 hour food around here, it is Diana's and a fucking Reuben. They make other stuff, but they make a good Reuben so fuck the rest of that noise. Maybe an omlette if you wanna go that way, freak. Or White Castle when it is open.

I got some motherfucking Australianism for ya.

Last night I went to a speech by Bob Hawke. BOB MOTHERFUCKING HAWKE MOTHERFUCKERS. God, he was so fucking inspirational. It was so great to see one of the old Australian political legends up there, spraying invective in every direction and gouting sheets of bellyfire like it's going out of fashion (which it is).

Nearly brought a tear to my eye, swear to god.
