Today:

- Possibly ate a bit of a plastic fork.
- Checked to see if something had gone bad by tasting it (it had).

Having taken so damn long to apply for a postgraduate course. To be truthful, even with the benefit of the months, I still have little idea how exactly I'd like to study linguistics and translation. I'm applying for Creative Writing at the moment, as this uni has the best reputation in the country in that field, and I figure such an MA will give me a further year to think things through and come to a decision. I have a year to spare, you see, having moved from a four year course to a three year one. But I have to submit a portfolio of written work, and most of my stuff is pretty adolescent and pretentiously pointless, so I'm trying to write something else to go with a few select few of them. Has to be a 5,000 word portfolio, applications have to be submitted before the end of this month, but I leave to France on Monday. And of course, I'll need to apply elsewhere for safety's sake.

I feel like a complete arsehole having delayed this for so long, but I'm notoriously indecisive career-wise and hardly the most admin-savvy. But I really don't want to waste a year either way, and I have little "proper" work experience (A little stable tending here, a few translations and indexations here...), so insertion in the market would be difficult.

Uh, seriously participated in a discussion with a certain internet poster whose name starts with "J" and ends with the name of a rather largish city in Iowa.

I took a promotion without asking for a raise. (I get slightly better hours and full time status, but the pay still sucks and I've got way more responsibility ;_; )

I have either caught a virus from some of my sick coworkers, or I drank way too much caffeine today. I feel nauseous and ready to throw up.

I ate 4-month-old ice cream the other weekend - it tasted fine! - and spent the night handling stomach cramps and vomiting. What's worse, I got sick in the middle of traffic on the Baton Rouge bridge, leaving me shifting in my seat with the AC blowing full blast to keep me from freaking out.

i think they're trying for style points now? chain enough semi-related posts together and you get quad points for all ipod cases sold.
