So I just finished reading Tim Rogers' Fukubukuro (or whatever the hell it's called) on insertcredit.com. By "reading" I mean I scrolled my browser to the bottom of each page ignoring any text I saw and clicked on the link at the bottom to go to next page until finally reaching the end of the article. It took me around an hour to read in this way and I didn't even actually READ more than 100 words.

Anyway, I got to one of the pages and saw the Dead Rising ad:

And I remembered when Tim and a bunch of guys at the Insert Credit forums were putting it together. It was fun and hilarious, and I want to do it here! So yeah, lets rip those mofos off and make an ad of our own. Then maybe someone will write an article about whatever game we do the ad for and we'll publish the article in our magazine along with the unofficial ad, breaking tons of copyright, and getting people to write to Shaper saying, "I can't believe you soiled your beautiful magazine by putting ads in it."

Today we'll do step 1: Select a Game.

We're accepting nominations.

Suggestion #1:

Halo 3

The ad could be a picture of a tent with a Halo sniper file photoshopped in next to it with the caption: "Camping Season Begins November 21st."

See there. I just made up the Halo 3 release date. That would really piss some people off.

Sometimes when a debt needs to be repaid,
it takes a litte coaxing.

Would it be too ambitious to make up a title entirely? Perhaps the next Ueda, or something from those Seeds Inc. (post-Clover) chaps? Or are neither of those bombastic enough?

God of War 2?

Not at all! I don't really like the idea of making up something that involves a real game designer unless it's totally blatantly toungue-in-cheek, but it might be a neat idea to just suggest crazy game ideas and make an ad for them. Hell, maybe some indie designer would even make the game!

A guy at my work told a joke today about a game that's a little bit like Alien vs. Predator, only it adds "illegal" and "child" in the appropriate places to really take on a greater concept.

That would be a good one.

MORE BLOOD !
MORE TITS!
MORE GODS!
MORE WAR!
Forget Gears of War, from now on the "G" in "GoW" stands for "God."

Get your Halo 3 Beta invite on Feb 21.

It's actually coming out on Feb. 20th! There's a street date, so most stores already have it. I'm pumped! The demo's absolutely incredible!

But yeah, that's a good one.
