Question three was tricky since I love electric light, but I hate poetry.

BTW, I'm Ludwig II, the Swan King of Bavaria. Makes total sense too.
And he apparently wasn't a good swimmer either.

I'm Charles VI, Mad King of France. That guy was pretty nuts.

Wasn't Ludwig II the dude that built that crazy Bavarian castle?

I got Charles VI, too.

The castle is called Neuschwanstein.

It's one copied in Disneyland.

I've been to the real one, but I was too young to give a shit.
Probably would have loved seeing the fake one.

Does that look like a videogame thing or what?

Charles VI here too. I'm beginning to suspect he may be the least hardcore of the bunch.

Where do you think the videogames got it from?

Has anybody here watched "The Tenth Kingdom"?

This would make a badass Oblivion/FinalFantasy setting.

I'm Charles the Mad. Sclooop.

My favorite line is: "Passing briefly into erratic genius, you believed yourself to be made of glass and demanded iron rods in your attire to prevent you breaking. "

God, my wife forced me to watch that... it was horrible. I just remember how bad the acting was though.

There's just something oh-so-right about the Thin White Duke playing Tesla. The movie would probably have rocked just the same without him, but he just added that magical finishing touch.

It's the The Man Who Fell to Earth metareference.

That and the utterly smooth performance.

David Bowie doesn't cry and fondles under-age Japanese boys.

The Prestige. A fine rivalry piece, even if the sci-fi conceit of the book is far more interesting as comtemplation. Here, it feels like Gothic horror enough, so it works fine.

And he's amazing in it. He's smooth like tempered ambers and his entrancedrips with expert style. And his lines were prescient and genuinely clever.

You better catch it if you can. I mean, it's got Christian Bale in it.

So how is the book? There's a copy that's been staring me down from a local used bookstore for a while now, but I've held off on picking it up for fear that it will let me down in light of the movie. I don't care if it's different (as almost all books that spawn movies invariably are), I just want it to be as good as if not better than the film.
