There are no plans, but we take all submissions. I can't promise anything other than giving it a fair looking over. Shoot me a PM or email if you want to really do this.

mod request: can we have "illuminati" word filtered into "illuminati" from now on?

You just need to ask!

Come to think of it, I should word filter some sense into all of these posts. How about we change Hitler into Jesus? While we're at it, maybe we can change Fallout into Oblivion and vice-versa just to see if the thread still makes sense.

It would appear as tough us forlorn DaCers and our friends at NMA are not alone in our quest to restore that which was once the great FALLOUT. A wonderful article written in PC gamer magazine directed at Bethsoft has presented a plea for Bethsoft to preserve those very elements that made fallout great.

And here it is

Other elements in this article are making fallout fans a little more optimistic. It would appear as though the setting may end up being on the east coast of the US (Fallout 1 and 2 where set on the west coast). This is exactly what the fans want in accordance with a poll run at both major fan-sites. This may be just a coincident, but it shows that Bethsoft might be listening to the fans. It also shows that they have put enough thought into this title to place it in a setting that reduces the likelihood of inadvertently trampling established cannon.

Anyway, I've been the lead designer on Fallout 3 for quite some time now. It's not exactly the type of offer you turn down, you know? And no, I really can't say anything about anything. But I just wanted to pop on and say hi.

I just became very interested in Fallout 3!

i've seen some pathetic internet situations before.

this is possibly the first uncomfortable/weird one though. (outside the realm of porn)

like if you saw a bum eating a dead cat, and stopped to watch out of curiosity, and then you were suddenly confronted by a random person bent on validating the consumption of raw cats. with a straight face.

I do think it's kind of ironic that Interplay's looking for investors to help fund the game they probably should have funded themselves when they actually had money. Actually, I think it's a moronic idea for ANYONE who isn't Blizzard (and even Blizzard at this point) to make an MMORPG. Sure, if your game's a hit you can win big, but if it's not you're risking everything and then some. They should have sold off the MMO thing and held on to the Single Player RPG thing. As it is I can't see a Fallout MMO helping anyone.

The Fall Of The House Of Interplay: Narrative By A Developer.

Part Two

He hired some Beverly Hills law firm to try and settle claiming that Interplay just doesn't have the money to "honor" the penalties.

Paying a Beverly Hills law firm while trying to claim poverty doesn't fly with me. Add the fact that each of the employees I talked to, were all made identical offers, back wages plus vacation - no penalties.
I might be willing to believe his tale if the offers were for a flat percentage of the total judgment (say 66%). He just doesn't want to be penalized. Its all about arrogance, not an inability to pay.

I guess I should have posted this along with that trailer-thingy on the google video thread.

In-game engine. (render, not gameplay)

They got the song that was wanted for the original Fallout. (I prefer the substitute.)

Ron Perlman.

Vaccuum tubes an chit.

Looks ok.

Fall 2008. 16 or so months? They had better have a lot of it done already. I'd be happier if the target date was Fall 2009.

I thought it was trying to reference the form of the Fallout 1 intro. Bethesda can't win either way-- if it's too close to prior Fallouts WE ALL KNOW THE SCORE ALREADY and if they do anything new it's heresy =P

I'm pleased with the art direction. Let's see some dialogue and gameplay. I'm willing to BELIEVE.

I'm kinda broke. Do you think I'd get much money if I auctioned off a Fallout 2 shirt signed by all the BIS staff? I don't think I will due to the sentimental value, but out of curiosity...
