ok, so it's oblivion with a half life 2 engine and a lot more stealth options and a crazier battle system. my curiosity is piqued. the demo is through steam, so xzy.

for what it's worth, i really like steam. and i never thought i would. i like what it's becoming. (even though this sort of bodes poorly for manifesto games).

anyway, i haven't played a might and magic game since i was 12. have i missed anything?

It seems more directed than Oblivion. Considering the dream team working on it, it does indeed hold promise.

That's the sort of thing I've been wanting from hand-to-hand FP combat. Speaking of which, judging from the demo, the style they've come up with is pretty solid, but I still feel could use some more work.

indeed. there's a lot that needs to be polished. when does this thing drop?

http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=646618

a month or so. oh well. maybe a lot will get shored up between now and then.

i also think it proves why feet in a first person are more annoying than worth it. fear had good feet/legs/hands stuff but it still looks goofy. (anyone who doesn't dig slow motion kung fu throught a glass window just doesn't enjoy fun, methinks)

I understand the issue with feet, how jarring and clumsy they can be, but I still feel they're becoming necessary (Dark Messiah making a good case for this, as well as F.E.A.R.). I'm hopeful that the idea brought up in the new Brothers in Arms game, where quite simply, you play a model within the game, camera set in its eyes, will make such things more natural.

From what I've seen and read about this game it's less Oblivion and more Heretic. If I had a better PC I'd be jumping on the Dark Messiah bandwagon.

I'll probably buy it eventually, but that would mean having to reduce my widescreen to 800x600 resolution.

i'm presuming they'll fix the resolution selection for the final product, since i was only able to select two resolutions, neither of which were mine (1280x720)
