I have some Atari things I wouldn't mind unloading. A 2600 and a 7800 that work and have adapters but possibly no joysticks or TV/Computer switches, and a bunch of games. Does anyone here collect this sort of thing? |

What kind of games are you willing to part with? Any interesting 7800 titles? |

Just because Ninja Golf sucked doesn't mean it wasn't interesting. |

Very few 7800 games. I never actively collected 7800--I was just given the system at some point. Most of my good 2600 games I'd like to keep at least one copy of, even if I will no longer have anything to play them on. I'm mostly just looking to unload the consoles to make room, admitting to myself that I'll never bother hooking them up again.
I think I have lots of duplicate 2600 games, and probably a few 5200 ones, too, now that I think about it. I'll try to get a picture of the games in the next few days. |

I have a bunch 'o 7800 games, but sadly no console. A few years ago I picked up a lot of 2600 games and when they arrived, SURPRISE! about a dozen 7800 games, many still in the box. Ninja Golf, shrinkwrapped, even! Yeah, it's mostly stuff like Ms. Pac-man, Donkey Kong, etc. If I recall correctly, the 7800 was basically just an Atari 8-bit computer without the keyboard, so the games are about the same. |

I simultaneously want to encourage you to hold on to your shrinkwrapped copy of Ninja Golf because it is awesome, and to give it to me because it is awesome.
As far as Atari 8-bits without keyboards, you're thinking of the 5200 -- the 7800 was actually a much different beast, with backwards 2600 compatibility, and a crazy graphics chip that even now no one has figured out how to use efficiently. I've still never owned a 5200. One day...
If you ever get a 7800 to play with, most of the decent 7800 games are arcade ports. There were only a couple of what-the-hell-were-they-smoking titles from Atari besides Ninja Golf; most notably Midnight Mutants, which features Grampa Munster, and no other Munsters. Now THAT is some fucking box art. |

Oh yeah, that's right, the 7800 was the NES-competition, right? Such as it was.

That's pretty crazy. I'll check my collection when I get home to confirm what's there-- you're got me curious now. |
