Hey all,

I don't know how acceptable this is but considering The Gamer's Quarter hasn't seen an issue since I don't know when and there were/are two articles of mine languishing and waiting to be printed in it, I have decided that it is cool to publicize my own personal project here.

exp. is my 32-page video game 'zine. As my etsy page states:

"Intended to offer a different and defiantly print-orientated style of video game writing, the magazine takes the form of several experiential articles considering the games Mathew experienced from the 21st September to 25th October 2009 (though not in chronological order.) The articles aren't reviews or critical essays, and are instead intended to reflect the thoughts had while playing.

Articles include:
- Punch Out!! (A failed poem)
- Metal Gear Ac!d (An absurdly complex DIY boardgame for one)
- Red Faction Guerrilla (A dream of a spaceship)
- And more!

These articles will NEVER appear online and this first edition is a special, limited version produced only for sale at Canzine, Canada's largest 'zine fair. Any future editions of this issue will be subtly different, so this is your only chance to own the unique first edition!"

I have some spare copies available for anyone on the Gamers Quarter forum, I'd be really excited to hear what you think of it! Just message me if you're interested!

Oh and if anyone wants to mention this on selectbutton maybe that would be cool. I promised myself to leave and never return there but I know some people there would probably dig it.

I'm all sold out of the first edition, but the second edition is being printed this week (it'll be functionally the same, just a little cleaned up in terms of a few typos, some design things that annoyed me.)

Anyone who still wants one just needs to PM me and i'll reserve their copy.

I got this this week! I like it a lot! The format is awesome and I love how creative all of the pieces are. Every article has a unique hook and interesting feeling. Great writing too.

My only problem with it is that many of the opinions feels ingenuine, like rather than being your actual opinion they're more like hooks that would allow you to write good articles. This may or may not be the case, but the feeling is something that kind of irks me.

Interesting comment!

All of the feelings are genuine! But I only wrote them down if I thought they'd make a good article. Weird sort of catch-22 there, I guess. But I'll see about maybe trying to seem more heartfelt in future, perhaps.
