Maybe you should give them a go.
P.S. Coil's Songs of the Week
Brainwashed FAQ wrote: | What were the Songs of the Week? How can I get them?
Song of the Week was a series of MP3 songs given away free from the website. Unfortunately some people decided to abuse that free privilige by redistributing them. That led to people obtaining the songs w/o the disclaimers posted on the site which clearly stated the feature would be removed if people tried to sell the songs on CD-Rs instead of give them away. People are still trying to sell the CD-Rs, so if you see them, demand the songs for free, since they got the songs for free. |

i nearly forgot that i'd done an "ask a..." segment with one of our locals here:
http://dhex.wordpress.com/2009/01/26/ask-a-game-producer/
i also reviewed the blut aus nord album i'd heard recently. still don't get it. it's probably a thing, which is problem cause i'm going to have to review a lot of drone/doom/blackened/etc metal here and there with this white heat gig. _________________

Hey, your game producer's good! I was surprised.
I'm not caring much for the new Antony, except the last 3 (i think) tracks.
Aethenor's new album with David Tibet should arrive any minute now! Very excited for that.
Um, to complete that vocalist trifecta, I just ripped my Richard Youngs collection so I can finally listen to him again. Hooray! The Naive Shaman remains my favorite. _________________ "Worlds turn the new machine to thee. To thee. Though, thine the new machine space."

yeah, i need to find more odd professionals for the ask a... series. everyone's so busy right now.
so my nuevo amigos belgian recommended asva, and they were right.
i also picked up the new nadja album (new from last year at least). it's not grabbing me that much.
the bassist is dreamy, though. so dreamy...sigh... _________________

Ooh. So that Aethenor gets to be my first favorite album of 2009. Delicious! And a perfect continuation of both their work and Tibet's. The free drumming that drove the last album gets far more treatment here, turns things awfully itchy, comes on in serious waves. Third track is like cutting off your own head and putting it through the wash.
My favorite Nadja albums remain the Thaumogenesis/radiance pair. If you can still find the Daymare records set with both, it's a good deal- the originals on Archive are long out of print. _________________ "Worlds turn the new machine to thee. To thee. Though, thine the new machine space."

It's not necessarily new, but I've been listening to Calvin Harris' I Created Disco a fair chunk lately.
After hearing the full scope of the album, the true gem is Acceptable In The 80s and always was. _________________

Tremble was my first taste of Nadja too. I bought it from Utech records alongside Final's Dead Air, which you would probably enjoy.
Really yeah, they have quite a bit of stuff out there. I think you may want to check out their re-releases for starters (Touched, Corrasion, Bliss Torn from Emptiness and Skin Turns to Glass). I'm still waiting for my special Thaumogenesis+Thaumoradiance Daymare order. My version The Bungled & The Botched came with demos of both songs, though, maybe you'd prefer those.
Not really sure where to go myself from there. Not that I can really afford it now. They've got two new ones coming out this year, including a two-discer. And then there's a some previously unreleased material making it to CD as well as one full of covers. They're pretty prolific that way.
They've still got a single up for free, mind you. _________________ "This is the most fun I've ever had without being drenched in the blood of my enemies!" |

I am psyched because I just bought a copy of The Angelic Process' Coma Wearing for a tenner on eBay. It's not only out of print but was limited to 750 copies. _________________ "This is the most fun I've ever had without being drenched in the blood of my enemies!" |

i presume that artist just sits around to document the dumbest conversations he can find.
michael gira is no idiot and sees people dropping 30 bucks to see tg and 60 to see mbv.
the new agoraphobic nosebleed is good, but it's a lot more bandy than anything else they've done. _________________

They've gone all power violence on us. I like it a lot but if there was one criticism I have with it it would be that it's missing the grind but that's really a preference thing than an actual criticism. There's still Altered States Of America to listen to anyway. _________________

jesu's Infinity is the best release under that moniker since Heart Ache and the self-titled album.
Also:
Caldo Verde wrote: | Justin Broadrick first emerged as a force in music as part of the band Napalm Death in the mid eighties. He then formed Godflesh which cemented his place in a genre which is variously known as extreme, grindcore or just new metal. There are however, many arrows in Justin Broadrick’s quiver. Over the last twenty years he has maintained a series of projects ranging in musical style from punk to industrial to the layered, melodic atmospherics of his current band, Jesu and it’s newest release, an EP called ‘Opiate Sun’. This ability to step outside the confines of musical convention sets him apart creatively from other writer musicians who have been working in his field over this period. Despite, or perhaps because of this stylistic diversity he has attracted an obsessively loyal fanbase and a reliably positive response from critics. The question is always, How does he sound so light while staying so heavy?
Jesu’s output has been spasmodic but of a uniform high quality. All instruments are played by Justin Broadrick and apart from the occasionally guest vocalist (Jarboe from The Swans) he handles all vocals. Two traditional sequenced albums, ‘Jesu’ in 2004, and ‘Conqueror’ in 2007 plus an album length song, ‘Infinity’, in July 2009 have been intertwined with a number of EPs. In 2008 Jesu issued one EP, ‘Why Are We Not Perfect?’ and contributed to two more split EPs with other bands. ‘Opiate Sun’ is the only Jesu release in 2009 aside from ‘Infinity’.
‘Opiate Sun’ will be released in the US and UK on Mark Kozelek’s Caldo Verde Records home of Mark’s own Sun Kil Moon and other transformative musical endeavors. Mark was captured by the strength of Justin’s performance when he saw him live in San Francisco in 2007. Therefore he was only too happy to help out when the opportunity arose to be involved in this important project.
Justin Broadrick is a native of Birmingham, England and resides in Wales. He has produced or remixed releases by Pantera, Isis, and Pelican. He also runs his own label, Avalanche Inc.
