I actually started using PlayFire.com the other day... Which kind of does the same thing but is less "texty". _________________ PSN: Twitch_City ||| Wii: 8083 5371 5767 6700

I was actually looking for a site like this a while ago, I wrote down all my games on a text file instead and was using it as a check list.
I'll prolly create and account soon, I've got well over 300 games so it might take me awhile.
Added my profile, username Jakten. Only got my Gameboy games up currently though |

Oooohhh, 300? Good luck with those. I keep on buying games myself, so I need to get cracking on beating some of those games! |

I've been using IGN's game collection service and, uhh, I don't want to switch. It was too much work!

Oh yeah, I remember that list. It's a library unprecedented in the history of gamerology How many games have you never beaten now? |

I've been doing the same thing for games, books, movies, and videos for the past 8 years in my own little online db.
Which one is worth mirroring the game part on? _________________ =/ \(<D)_/

It's kind of a lot of work. It's probably not worth doing anywhere.
If someone wants to be awesome they'll make an iPhone app that lets you take pictures of your games and uses an AI to read the titles/box art and add them to an online accessible collection. Only then will it be worth it!

What, like Delicious Library?
You don't need an AI when you have barcodes. Of course, when you don't have barcodes (loose Atari carts, PC games whose giant boxes you've thrown away that live in a giant binder), life's a bit more shitty. |

Barcodes aren't efficient enough. I literally want to be able to take a picture like this:

And have it add everything to my collection. It would be so much easier than scanning or anything else.

It probably wouldn't cost that much to have the Amazon Mechanical Turk do it. |

I did not know this existed, but my idea was inspired by the Amazon iPhone app, which allows you to take a picture of any object and it sends an Amazon link to your email where you can buy that object. I assumed it was an AI, but actually, they probably use the Mechanical Turk system to do it!
