I'm pretty sure that's an educational puppet talking in that video.
Also, Shaper, didn't you buy Funky Horror Band? Like a couple of years ago? |

Yup, and it was bad. That video pretty well sums up why I never really tried to play it. _________________ “The average man has a secret desire to be a swaggering, drunken, fighting, raping swashbuckler.”

Yeah I rememebr Dess saying you bought it at around the same time.
I'm not sure if I've posted these before... they're vidoes my friend made (the guy who made that Korg DS one and also the Rude Pocket Physics one). Here are two more!
First a video of he and a number of other people I know playing the Taito Ice Cold Beer maching at last years MAGFEST:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mnni6-moxE
It's apparently very addictive! The next video is DONATELLO, as drawn in Drawn to Life:

Here's the ending of Metroid II. The way you beat the final boss is excellent. I'm surprised it hasn't been used in Metroid games more, really. It's especially cool because the boss's body is translucent (you'll see what I mean).
I'm also impressed by the way you burst out of the caverns and fly out into the night on your way back to your spaceship, just before you leave the planet. It reminds me of the sense of release I got in that Knytt Stories level Dessgeega made, when you finally find your lost umbrella and then sail on the wind across the clifftops back to your house.
Then Samus strips down to her bra and panties. Neat. |

It's definitely the best 2D Metroid by a long way, although I enjoyed Fusion quite a bit.
I don't really play Metroid games anymore. I don't like the way the series controls! It took me a long time to come to this realisation, but there it is! The reason they give you so many hit points is because the controls are so goddamn clumsy, if you get hit you can't really be held responsible! |

Well look at the suit! It doesn't lend itself to agility!
The ending to Metroid 2 is one of my favourite videogame moments ever. I had the game as a child, and even back then I knew it was something special. It was also a fucking revelation when I finished it a second time with a killer time, and saw Samus without her suit and in her underwear!!! (I hadn't finished the first game). _________________

I did think that, but then again Samus pull backflips and all types of shit! Metroid Prime is actually a lot more successful at capturing the sensation of being entombed in a iron diving suit, even if she does leap around like Spider-Man during the cut-scenes, backflipping as before. |

sense of weight is something most first-person games get very wrong. bioshock works it well. half-life 2 does not. _________________ Like you thought you'd seen copter perverts before. They were nothing compared to this one. |

Something that bugs me about FPS games is that NO ONE EVER BENDS THEIR LEGS WHEN THEY JUMP. Half-Life 2 really makes you feel like a walking camera, yeah. Bioshock had nice weight behind the player.
I still need to play the first Metroid Prime I really want to! I wsd going to get it off Dess but then those bastards at Nintendo broke the freeloader. Bunch of twats.
Also yeah, Metroid 2 is my favourite Metroid game. _________________

Fusion is really entertaining! In ten years people are going to be hailing it as an unsung classic. There's no fat in it, which I like. |

I really like Fusion too. It did something new and interesting with the series, like Metroid II did! It doesn't lend itself to speedruns though (one of the more entertaining things to do in a Metroid game), but oh well. _________________

i can but metroid II feels more appropriate on something a bit quainter, a bit dated, a bit more charming. i wonder if it's appropriate to play metroid II on anything other than an old greenscale gameboy. _________________

If you play it on a GBA you get a really nice colour palette. Samus is yellow and red while the backgrounds are black and blue. It actually enchances the tone of the game! |

I think it detracts from it.
And, by the way, you can go back to the original colors on a GBA by pressing, I think, Right + B at the initial GameBoy screen. _________________

I prefer the left + a black & white scheme. I think it fits the nature of Metroid II a bit better. _________________ “The average man has a secret desire to be a swaggering, drunken, fighting, raping swashbuckler.”

That's one of the best videogame related videos I've seen on the internet.
Man, I want Sonic Jam so much right now. I've never seen it pop up on ebay (the PAL version, anyway).
I uh. I have Sonic Jam for the Game Dot Com! _________________

The worst thing about the Let's Play People is that they think they have to say something funny about EVERYTHING that happens in the game. Dude. Your video is four hours long. Give us a break. |

I just find the excessive cussing in most LP's to be distracting rather than funny. Some can do it well...others really shoudln't bother. I prefer to hear random obscure stuff about the game, thought processes, etc. Pretty much the speedrun commentary on Grand Theft Auto San Andreas that went on up SDA not long ago---that was awesome and educational. |

I'm amazed that's on Youtube. I remember I was so excited to play Nitemare 3D because I loved the Hugo adventure games. It was pretty dissapointing!
I'm still kinda tempted to buy the windows trilogy pack...
