It was a lot better than I expected it to be. I'd rank it below the other four games, but I think it's definitely worth playing if you like the SH games.

Now, if they'd only port the few other PSP games that interest me.

Swimmy, it's worth getting if you do enjoy the SH series. I'm decently happy with my review of it.

I think it's worse than SH4 and better than SH3. You have to remember that not everyone hated SH4.

Yeah. I actually enjoyed SH3 a lot more than 4 . . . thought neither are as good as the first two.

Oh-ho, a review! Thanks Shaper. I think we have pretty similar views on Silent Hill, so I guess I'll be picking this game up today.

The intro's funny. Dude with a total redneck accent talking to Travis, but he uses. . . big words. That's not how it works, you know?

The game looks pretty grainy. I can tell it's a port. I think that might be a good thing.

If you can make it unscathed mentally thought the first couple of major areas (and can put up with the minor bugs) I'm sure you'll get some enjoyment out of it. Some of the bugs were so irritating that I knocked a point off the score (mostly audio). I went back and tried to play the PSP version, and even though it's a more solid "game" I'd rather play the PS2 version if/when I play through it again. I don't think the series is suited at all for portable play, and I hate using the analogue nub on the system.

I'm sure since I can't tell the difference, not having a PSP, I'll be perfectly able to put up with it.

Wow, some of the concepts in this game are really embarrassingly bad. The weapon breakage wouldn't be as horrible if they implemented a quick-equip a la SH4, but man. And the camera! What is it doing?

I'm gonna tough through it anyway, just because, no matter how clunky, it's still Silent Hill, it still freaks me right the hell out, and I love being freaked the hell out.

There is at least one really, really, really excellent new monster for freaking you out. Let me know if you figure out which it is. Strangely enough it's not even listed as a monster officially!
