The barrel was the original Shipping Container.

You could roll them in/out of storage areas.

I wonder if there was some sort of removable grommet system that would allow rows of them to be attached to a pair of ropes (guidelines) then lifted and "poured" into a cargo hold/dockside rack.

The crate is just a square barrel.
Functionally.

:evolution:

And yet they are still not the same thing!

Heck, I'll do it!

So Dess, if you had time, you would finish laying out the magazine and e-publishing it? Is it just your current lack of time and the HEADLINE ARTICLE holding you back?

we usually don't talk about this, but yes.

For the record we've made not a dime. We charge more for the mag than it costs to print, but not by much, and any profit that we made and then some (a lot actually) was all spend on bookmarks and trying to pimp the magazine to advertizers that never came.

So yes, nobody's made any money and most of us are out by a bit.

I'm almost done with my move, so expect things to shape up for print within the next month.

I wasn't aware of any honest concern over the release. I still think that the headliners will be topical, but we did miss our window for "OMG AWESOME COVER STORY" so now it's been downgraded to "good cover story"

We also need back cover art (one of the major things holding up the issue) if anyone wants to help out with that.

Have you found a place to move in to?

And yeah, I figured it would get done when it did, what with all the various upheavals in people's lives and all that. I still think TGQ puts some great stuff out there that is completely underrepresented otherwise, so the wait is worth it.

I did, and the lawyers are currently working on the contracts so that I don't get screwed. I should be in a house by Mar 14th at the latest. Getting all of my stuff out of storage is a totally different story.

In the next issue you should include an advertisement for advertising. It's worth a try! Also make sure to advertise it with STYLE and offer STYLE to your clients if they choose to advertise with you!

We did something like this for a while in the back of the older issues.* We kind of gave it up when no one responded to that, or direct attempts with really friggin awesome ad request pamphlets we got to about thirty PR people or more.

*print only

This is good news. Well, aside from the storage shit. I am glad to hear that all is coming together finally. Maybe you can return to live more often then. I have almost finished my first prestige run through on Call of Duty.

Way to pull rank, Private Pike

If academia is so gross why are you a student? I'm a graduate and no-one's ever checked my certificate before giving me a job, they just look at my (extra-curricular) portfolio work and judge me on that. Almost as if I needn't have gone to university at all. So leave if you don't like it.

Hey, awesome news. Glad to hear you're almost out of the woods. I keep experiencing these visions of a destitute, haggard Shaper dragging a beat-up laptop and wander the streets. You'd probably be carrying a sign that says, "Will edit game magazine for food/shelter."

The Gamer's Quarter is pretty well regarded! It's definitely got a reputation for itself. Penny Arcade seem to like it, and one of the Jill Off reviews described it as , and I quote, ' the closest thing the game industry has to a journal of serious critique'. Man if you ever run adverts that's your quote right there.

It's a hefty tag, though! You'd need a pretty stringent editorial policy to live up to that. Man!

Oh man Cycle did I ever tell you about the time Chet went on a massive rant over at POE-news about the evils of piracy and I pointed out he runs four shell websites that encase other people's content in his own google ads and forums? He got so mad!
